I recently discovered flogging, much to my excitement and satisfaction.

Now, when I was completely new, my image of flogging included a large man with an even larger leather whip striking me until it bled! Ack! I believe a Hannibal Lector image came to mind




Now, I know what it feels like and it is nothing like what I had so mistakenly assumed. IT is one of the most erotic activities I have participated in and the most fulfilling for both of us.

Well Miss T I fully agree with your first image of flogging. Then one of my friends invited me to watch a session of him and his wife. She didn't look like she was in pain I was just awe stuck watching. Then he asked if I would care to have a feel... God my legs were like jelly. But it was a wonderful feeling escalated by music in fact. He said it was the best way to flog by the beat of a song that you knew well so you didn't have a fear of when the next strike would hit. The intensity of the flogging depends on the Dom/sub as well as the type of flogger.

My first was done with a flogger made of nylon rope. He told me he preferred this when training as the pain isn't too intense and his needs are met as he can use a lot of strenght without hurting me. True.

The second is a leather one. Eroticism starts with it being splayed across your tummy and over your breasts. He may tickle me with it. Then, the strikes begin, softly at first until they crescendo to a greater amount of pressure.

I would think that counting would make it more difficult for you to reach subspace. Just go with the flow and use your safe word if you need to.

Counting doesnt make you lose your concentration?

I agree with you WD. Having to keep count makes it more of a punishment then something that is to be ment enjoyable. Unless it is your punishment that you count up to six to. But either way as long as you are enjoying yourself Miss T take it how you like it! It's all about what will take you to that glorious state of bliss.

The tawse was used in Scotland for many years. I think it's been banned in the schools now.

Mine has a wooden handle. Most don't. At least the traditional ones don't. I have a pic in the toy thread of mine. Wont let me post the same image here.

A tawse is basically a leather strap.. worked best if oil is applied to it first so the leather is supple.. Two thongs of leather that are fairly thick. When administered it generally provokes great pain though depending on the force used of course. And because it is two straps of leather they part and hit together on impact sometimes giving a pinch to the flesh. I recommend this for the more experienced Dom,mes/subs

Oh my! I think flogging has to be one of my favorite things. We have five flogger. Each one is designed to create a different sensation.

1. A fine deer skin flogger. (I made this one.) It is lightweight, creates a little sting. I personally perfer this one for my breasts.

2. My blue suede flogger. (Yes the famous what's that on her ass one!) It is heavier, thuddier and can really sting. I like this one for my ass and back and oh yes... the pussy!

3. The black braided cat. It is a little stiff and the ends have a tendency to bite. It is harsh and we use this rarely because it can really hurt.

4. The white nylon rope one. (Another one of my creations.) I like this one alot. It can be thuddy or stingy, depending on how himself weilds it.

5. The rabbit skin flogger. I actually bought this one for Himself, not to hit him with, of course. He loves the feel of this one being dragged across his skin, caressing him. And I admit that I do too.

Now my very favorite thing is for him to take me, bound in his arms, standing up, as he flogs me. I can feel his heat and excitement and this excites me more. It is not really a sub-space thing... it is more a connection thing. I asked him about this one time, and he said he does this so he can feel me and feel what I feel.....

What kinda of a sensation does a tawse give? Is it more of a sting? or a thud? or both together? It looks like it has a pretty good "whip" effect to it, but it's shorter so you probably have to swing it a bit harder to get that whip effect. But it's so thick it's gotta have some "thud" behind it.

I bet it leaves some interesting marks too

I have a small birch paddle. I'd say the feeling of tawse is pretty close to the paddle, but with a little more bite. And you can use the tawse on thighs and calves since it conforms to the shape of what it hits.

I tired it on my calf when I got it, and "nasty" comes to mind for a description.

I can see that... it would work for me too. I know when I'm exercising... counting my breaths helps me to get into my "zone" better. It's kinda like feeling the beat of the music when you are dancing. That rhymic pulse let's you phase everything else out and just concentrate on the important stuff.

I've been eyeing fetishauctioneer.com for some simple floggers; they regularly have some leather ones that look quite promising (and in the bargain section too! A double plus), but there was one wicked-looking braided leather flogger that quite won my heart. However, I just couldn't condone shelling out almost $200 for something that I almost certainly couldn't take (immediately). Perhaps I should start a fundraiser...Kinky College Kids, Inc. I'll start simple, then. Really, the only "thuddy" percussion play I've experienced is spanking by hand. I know nothing about paddles. What are the pros and cons of them? I like the look of the long, fairly thin leather ones, personally. What about those huge wooden ones? Does the type of wood really make much of a difference? What's a good "basic" paddle?

Wish I could answer yours, MissT. No, really, I do...I've idly fantasized about being used by other people at my T's command; I say "idly" because I have yet to meet a man who wants to share me.
