The weekly ABC...Themed thread:

Thank you for your comments. I have one more "Hands" pic for tomorrow. Not a knot. Hint: think "g-string" lol.

One more contribution before the clock runs out.

This one was meant to showcase my ability to splice rope (in this endeavor making a leash).

I hope that it still qualifies.

And thanks Numeniusa!

I like your paired pics with your man

The grommet in your left hand looks perfect. Is the whipping on the one in your right to finish the splice? (Knot nerd: Is it a Flemish eye or a regular eye splice?)

TAN:

Full disclosure, I have never been able to make a grommet. I never start with enough line and it gets too small or too tight to finish properly.

That is just the handle which is an eye splice.

The whipping is on another simple eye splice that holds the swivel snap. It is there to hide my "left coast" taper. (Nylon does not separate or cut as well as natural fiber, so tapering usually involves adding additional tucks with the strands)

If by "Flemish eye" you mean tucking the whole rope through a single strand, then no, both are full eye splices

The Flemish Eye is where you unwrap one lay and form the eye of the other two and then put the removed lay back in the eye, then finish the splice as usual. Its more common in wire rope, because it works best with an even number of lays.

Nice rope work.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled perving...

Awwwwww that’s so sweet and hope you’ve both enjoyed such a fantastic achievement! (Not jealous of that beach at all 😎 )

💋💋💋

Had a lovely time, thanks Willie. Back home in cold Blighty now, brrrrr!

A lovely couple in love.

Thank you, Todge

Awwwww absolutely LOVE this. Happy Anniversary. 💙💙💙

Thank you! The time's just flown, somehow... :)

This is so beautiful. Congratulations you two on such a milestone. 💜

Thanks, Moochie!

Aww, these are beautiful! Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!! The world can always use more sentimental soppiness, Numi, thank you!

Thank you, Tali!

I love it.

Thanks, HB

Happy anniversary to a beautiful couple. Sentimental sappiness is exactly what is called for on such an occasion. :rose:

Aw, thank you, Angelica. A good excuse, eh? :D

Very creative. Happy Anniversary.

Thanks, Tan!

And thanks Numeniusa!

I like your paired pics with your man

Thanks Cthulhu! One of these days I'll learn to spell your name, too!

You can blame EctoJohn for this one!

He got me thinking about surreal photos, which I love and I was screwing around and made this one. :)

That's disturbing but lovely, Tali. Gorgeous effect.

Hands at play....(if it’s linked...be warned)

You naughty man

Very skilled. I was nearly concentrating on the rope...

Okay, last H. I said "think G-string"

The G-string is the third string (from the bottom). And, its a G-chord:

So, anybody have any ideas for "I"?

That's brilliant, Tan. Did you know that in German the note names in an octave go C D E F G A H rather than C D E F G A B? More info here.

I. Hmmm. *thinks* Tricky.

Hands and a sort of Halloween ghostly effect.
Thanks Todger, I dig the spooky! :)
I gladly accept the blame for this.
It's a cool effect and I dig the piercing blue eye.
haha, yep, all your fault John, thank you!
That's sensational, Tali!
Thank you H!
Pan's Labyrinth comes to mind for some reason.
Oh, sweet, I'll take that! :rose:
Very creative Tali. Thanks EctoJohn as well.
Thank you TAN!

Wild. I must admit I have never heard that.

Now you have me wondering what an H cord would be like...

Squeaking in just before the deadline again, here's my 'hands' contributions.

For H and me, it was our twenty-fifth wedding anniversary this week, which we celebrated by going to the Caribbean for a totally indulgent fortnight (as previously discussed ;):))

So here are some beach hands. I hope you will forgive the sentimental soppiness :D

Hey there!!! I just found this anniversary hands portrayal you've posted and I love it!!! The two of you bring so much joy to all of us here you've allowed to enter into your Lit lives. :rose::kiss:

Okay folks...I?

Imbibe...you with your favorite beverage

Some others I thought of: Ink (tattoos), indigo (wearing something dark blue), idleness (in a state of repose), instep (make all the foot fetishists happy), invite (your best come hither pose)

Great ideas!

I was thinking (along with other suggestions)

I for Imagination...or the use off. That Intimate shot of your hand delving inside...or that little peek that leads you to wanting to see more, the teasing is pleasing aspect...the Intrigue that follows...

All that is very open to Interpretation. :D
