as for fps that are better than halo ... on pc just saying a few i would say return to castle wolfenstein, medal of honor, jedi knight, battlefield 1942, mafia and i would say half life

I'll agree on the level design part, and 1942 is excellent as is the Jedi series.

Those others... just bored me to death. I actually don't even like FPS's, but Halo actually made me sweat. The enemy AI did it for me, I think.

have you tried mafia storm thats really good ... i would say max payne 2 is the best game i've ever played though ... i haven't got to far into it but its amazing much better than the first one

I started out going for Squad Leader but getting experience for that is so fucked up and time consuming. Now I'm working toward commando.

its funny how good the game is considering how much is broken

i really liked the idea of ranger but the area tracking is pretty useless ... they are meant to be adding a new track skill though that sounds better

im finding it hard to get xp for combat to be a bounty hunter lol

Not yet, but it does look to be a good game that I'll like. I'm slow to get games for the next few months. And the last few months. $$ issues. And I didn't care for the first MaxPayne. I'm picky. But games keep evolving. There's so many coming out in the next months too....

Have you ever tried the Sims online? I'm afraid of any of those massively online games myself. The ones who dominate are the 24/7 gamers. If there was some balance to allow people who have a life, to stay on par, then I could go for it

I've only every played Anarchy Online, but being that I can't be at my computer 24/7 i was always falling behind so I gave up. I'm like you when it comes to those. My character for Sims online would probably die from neglect.

I hate the aiming in BF1942.. killing someone is even harder than in Counterstrike.

UT2003 is definitely a good buy. I hear someone is making a multiplayer mod for Unreal 2 (now that's gonna be interesting). Killing in UT2003 is easy. Surviving is the problem (though not as hard as BF42.)

And StrawberryPez..... what made you put away the Sims?? that game is addictive! And you never seem to run out of stuff to do.


Man, I can't wait for the KOTOR for the PC and Deus Ex 2... the pickings for the PC game scene is thinning out, all the best looking ones are showing up on the darned consoles

I too cannot wait for KOTOR to port to PC! I'm really having a hard time in the current game drought, but it will all end in a couple of weeks. I already have castlevania, rebel strike, and ffxi pre-ordered for this month alone. I tried Halo but lost interest pretty quickly after finishing the campeign and playing a few days of multiplayer. oh, BTW anyone that hasn't been to www.redvsblue.com should go and download all the episodes right away!

What's wrong with the aiming? Just shoot ahead of them a little bit and you'll hit them for sure. I love being an engy and sniping people in the head with one shot. They see me, they usually kneel to shoot, and by that time, I have my target on their head and bam, I'm dead and me at like 50% on average. Dunno how many times I've been called a cheater, lol.

I've been playing a lot of demos lately, namely the Prince of Persia, XIII, and Rainbow Six 3. I can honestly say that I can't wait to play the finished versions of all of them. Good stuff.

In all the WW-II/terrorist games I've played, it isn't so much about hitting your target as it is killing them. I can hit a guy between the eyes with a sniper rifle and even see him knocked back, and he'll keep coming unless I hit him again. But then one idiot shoots something at me and I'm dead. Even with body armor.

In Unreal Tourney? A head shot is usually a kill... well, usually as in I've scored many a head shot and cannot recall anyone surviving it. It's no less difficult to hit someone, in my experience, than BF1942 or Counterstrike, etc. But it's much more rewarding.

Maybe I'm just cut out for one and not the other.

I didn't decide to put it away, my computer did. When all those viruses were going around I got 3 of them. My computer crashed 3 times. I got tired of constantly reinstalling it only for my computer to crash again. I never got around to putting them back on here now that my computer is okay.
