Halo ~
is a great game, but its not my cup of tea.

I am more of an adventure / shooters w/ gun controler / RPG person. So I have not checked out games like Halo, Time Splitters or the Tom Clancy ones.

Question should be...why WOULDN'T you like halo?

<-- has Halo... *eg* :D  :D I can't wait to get Madden 2003 and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003... I actually want to play that Dead or Alive Beach Volleyball, too. That's my 2nd favorite sport (next to football of course), and I love playing it in sand. Maybe I'll try to rent it first - just to be on the safe side. ;)

Do you play Baldur's Gate? Already have, possibly? Just curious... I'm right in the middle of it right now. Farily engrossed with it... :)

I have played it, not all the way thru thought. Cos I was borrowing the game. I played the PS2 version a long time ago & just recently tried the X-Box version. I think I prefer Dungeon Siege on the PC more.

I didn't get as far in the X-Box version as I got in the PS2. I got a bit bored about playing the same thing over again. Its a lot better looking on the X-Box, I must say.

IF you liked Baldur's Gate, give Morrowind a try. A bit different style in the game play. I can't play the X-Box version cos I am use to the PC one. Can't play this one w/o a keyboard.

PC Version. Yes, it is very addicting, and it's tough to decide what I want to do with my characters... (which characters to keep, whether or not to dual-class, etc.) I think playing online would be cool, but I think it would be pretty tough as well. I haven't played it online yet - and I don't even know where to start. I used to play Diablo online - but that was wayyy back when. That was pretty awesome... until everyone you came across ended up with a "King's Sword of the Heavens" and "Whale Plate Mail"... or you came across some guy, walking by himself into the dungeons levels 1 and 2, with 323425452 experience points... wtf... lol Bastards! ;)

I'll look into it. I think I saw Morrowind in the store and considered it, but I wanted to get through BG first, though. I played it once about 2 years ago... spent a whole YEAR (370+ days) in game time (countless hours in real time), only to get as far as I am right now, at 37 days in game time. Hope it keeps going this quickly, because I bought it as a BG / Tales of the Sword Coast package... and I haven't even broken the seal on TOSC yet... Then they have BG2, and then expansion sets... geez... do they think that's ALL we do with our lives is game? Or is that all they WANT us to do...? lol

Cibo - i don't see how a video game could go out of style. If you enjoy playing it, and have made the investment to buy it - nothing wrong with enjoying it. I could see if it was online play, and the numbers of people being online dropped dramatically because a newer/cooler game came out... but as for single player - who cares whether it's in style or not? Just a thought. :)

Ya, I beat dungeon siege on both single player and multi-player and just no one plays the multi-player that much anymore. :(

I've mentioned how I love details in a sports game.. NHL 2K3 has that as well!

Playing in "The Igloo" tonight I noticed the players were all lined up for the anthem funny.. instead of facing one end of the rink, they were all onm the blue like turned towards the players bench...

Turns out the flags in that arena are behind the benches.

It's little details like that, that make games amusing. :)

i thought DS was ok but after a while there wasn't much to it except the nice graphics and doing the same thing over and over ... i didn't finish it but i got near the end

Rainbow Six 3.

What are peoples thoughts on this? Friends got it..says it's the best one so far.

I have never been a fan.

I played and own the very first RB game...and I enjoyed it. Playing on my 56k and all way back in the day, lol.

If it's anything like the current one, I might get it.

I really couldn't get into Baldur's Gate. I'm not exactly familiar with D&D rules, so the limitations were just too much for me. I'm a 2nd Gen gamer if you will. (you all do know of the 3 generations of gamers, yes?)

I never was too much into D&D... but after playing Diablo, and now Baldur's Gate... I kinda like the limited amount of role-playing of it. I don't think I'd care to know much more about rolls of the dice or such... but I do like the classifications of characters, different armors, weapons, fighting styles and ways of interaction amongst NPC's. Also - if it wasn't on the PC - I wouldn't be playing it. (regular D&D, for example)

I have an -idea- of the 3 gens of gamers, though I've never seen it clearly expressed. Do you have a link that provides a full, clear, distinguishable explanation of the 3? I'd like to see it.

Any Xmas suggestions?

I have a 19 year old son who has a PS2. He recently told me he had the new twin towers Lord of the ring game and it was great, if that helps.

Looking for 2 or 3 high quality (meaning excellent visual) games....

Any suggestions?

Gran Turismo 3. can't beat it for visuals

TWO DAYS for a new battery and oil change??? Geeeeeeezzzz... I'm no mechanic, but I could do that in my driveway, and be done in under 2 hours (INCLUDING the drive to Auto Zone for oil and to Sears for the new battery). Wow... that just amazes me. I might not be hearing all the facts, though. Oh well. Hope it wasn't too much of an inconvenience at least...

FJ

Well I'm sure it only took them a couple hours but I only use the truck for work so I dropped it off on Friday and told them I'd be back Saturday to pick it up. They had my truck once for a week when I went on vacation just to do the brakes. I guess it's convenient to be able to drop it off and worry about it later. I could change my own oil but I'm lazy and it's cold out :D

If you can handle long drawn out tedious rpgs FFX has great visuals..some of the cutscenes are the best I have ever seen.

yep...

Yeah, I know what you mean. I used to go to a mechanic quite frequently before I bought my new car. I used to visit him probably at least once every two months. Heck, by the time I got rid of that car, I probably already replaced everything at least once already... lol. But it was convenient - I'd go drop it off in the parking lot the night before, toss the keys in through the little port-hole in the garage door, and pick it up either the next day or the day after that.

And yes - it's too cold to be changing oil outside lately (if we're not accessible to a garage)... just not worth it.

*Walks in, kicks at the ground half-heartedly*
So..ummm...I helped Pez set up her Xbox today...I feel like such a traitor. Though I did have to get out a furniture cart to get the thing in her room.:p I beat her...kinda...at Project Gotham Racing though...and that game has the Chemical Brothers on the soundtrack and it's an unofficial sequel to Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast. So, I guess that game's okay with me.;)
Jeff is Smiling-I'm hoping you check back here, cuz I've got some advice for you. If you're going for visuals, Final Fantasy X, Gran Turismo 3, and Rygar are probably the way to go. You said he has the Two Towers game though, which probably means he likes action/adventure games too. In that case, he'd probably love Metal Gear Solid 2, Rygar, Devil May Cry, and especially Mark of Kri. So, to sum it up, he'd probably really like Rygar and Mark of Kri...but that's just me...that, and those two games are barely heard of but incredibly good. So yeah, now that I'm posting a book....I'm done.

The best is being able to use your own soundtrack for that game.. although there are alot of cool tracks that come with the game from all sorts of genres.

PGR 2 is gonna be just as good.. But it'd be nice if they could make it more of a Sega GT or Gran Turismo style game. The idea of Kudos isn't bad, but why not have it as kash for kudos and you can do small upgrades to a car?

you beat me by 22 kudos...and um..if I recall correctly someone was bothering me while I was playing. ;) And I did pretty good considering I couldn't see :D

Bothering you? I don't know what you're talking about;) I couldn't see either y'know. Hehe. If you think that was bothering, you haven't seen anything yet.;)
