The Un-Isolated Un-Blurt Thread

I saw my dad this week and he seems to be behaving himself. I cleaned up his sleeping area and rearranged his closet. I'm just glad he's ok.

My sister called me at 7:45 am this morning. Not sure why AND she didn't leave a message. I called back and left her a message. No phone call. Whatever.

Glad your dad is doing okay.

Your sister...

At least your sister calls. My sister just posts passive-aggressive comments about me on Facebook. So does my dad.

Fortunately, my mother's side of the family are more like New Yorkers.

When they stab you, they stab you in the front. :D

Yeeouch! :(

Great. My building is issuing a no smoke ban on the property. That means no smoking whatsoever on the property. So, we now have to go across the street to smoke a fucking cig.

Why are they constantly trying (and doing) to regulate behavior??? Fucking fuckers. If you want to smoke, you should be able to smoke.

Insurance, you get a discount if no one smokes on the premises.

My dad is doing well. He keeps falling but it's mostly from trying to get up and walk. They switched him back to the first floor and the one nurse looks after him really well. It's small relief.

I miss the way he used to be, though. :(

Glad to hear he is doing well. Does he have a walker, and if he does, does he remember to use it?

It is hard.

My dad keeps falling out of bed. The staff and I don't really know whats going on or why. I believe he's frustrated at not being able to do much by himself anymore. The place where he's staying is doing the very best they can but they have other patients to take care of.
I've tried so many times to figure out ways to help them but to no go. No matter what anyone does, he keeps acting out. Yelling at the staff, wanting to kick them, falling on the floor trying to go to the bathroom (or something) by himself.
The staff and I keep reminding him to use the call button for help. I just don't know what else to do. So depressed about this. :(

What does your dad think? Can you ask him why or what would help? Is there something about the call button that he isn't getting or able to do?

When was the last time he was at the doctors and had blood work done? I might be wrong but I seem to remember he had an infection before when he was falling a lot at home, could that be back?

If he gets up to mainly pee, could he pee in one of those male urine collection things instead?

He's had numerous tests done and they're clear. Aside from his dementia, he's doing fine. He doesn't know what to do, either. And he doesn't want to go in those receptacles. He wants to go into the bathroom to pee.

There really isn't much anyone can do. I have to wait tomorrow when I visit him.

The girl I was dating last year had the fartiest vagina ever. Like she'd orgasm and it would sound like a whoopee cushion. Also she wasn't at all good with the dirty talk. She'd over do it and make it weird.

I don't quite have a punch line for this one yet. But give me some time.

My dad is doing fine. It's me that is horrible. I miss the way my dad used to be. I miss so many things about him. I just want to not cry anymore.

Hugs.:rose: I know it's hard. All you can do is focus on the parts of him that are still here.

Dtopping off hugs for the ladies and a high five for the simply awesome weirdo up there.:rose:

(((((hugs)))))

I didn't see my dad today. Instead, I walked to my bank to figure out why I was missing $100 from my account. I found out the error is mine and I proceeded to kick my ass as I left the bank.

I see my dad tomorrow. Bringing him a better watch as he broke the previous one, crackers, one blue star balloon and wild cherry Pepsi. I hope it's a good visit. My days have been so depressing that I NEED a good visit.
