I saw my dad this week and he seems to be behaving himself. I cleaned up his sleeping area and rearranged his closet. I'm just glad he's ok.
My sister called me at 7:45 am this morning. Not sure why AND she didn't leave a message. I called back and left her a message. No phone call. Whatever.![]()

At least your sister calls. My sister just posts passive-aggressive comments about me on Facebook. So does my dad.
Fortunately, my mother's side of the family are more like New Yorkers.
When they stab you, they stab you in the front.![]()
Great. My building is issuing a no smoke ban on the property. That means no smoking whatsoever on the property. So, we now have to go across the street to smoke a fucking cig.
Why are they constantly trying (and doing) to regulate behavior??? Fucking fuckers. If you want to smoke, you should be able to smoke.![]()
Insurance, you get a discount if no one smokes on the premises.
Fuckers.
My dad is doing well. He keeps falling but it's mostly from trying to get up and walk. They switched him back to the first floor and the one nurse looks after him really well. It's small relief.
I miss the way he used to be, though.![]()

My dad keeps falling out of bed. The staff and I don't really know whats going on or why. I believe he's frustrated at not being able to do much by himself anymore. The place where he's staying is doing the very best they can but they have other patients to take care of.
I've tried so many times to figure out ways to help them but to no go. No matter what anyone does, he keeps acting out. Yelling at the staff, wanting to kick them, falling on the floor trying to go to the bathroom (or something) by himself.
The staff and I keep reminding him to use the call button for help. I just don't know what else to do. So depressed about this.![]()
What does your dad think? Can you ask him why or what would help? Is there something about the call button that he isn't getting or able to do?
When was the last time he was at the doctors and had blood work done? I might be wrong but I seem to remember he had an infection before when he was falling a lot at home, could that be back?
If he gets up to mainly pee, could he pee in one of those male urine collection things instead?
My dad is doing fine. It's me that is horrible. I miss the way my dad used to be. I miss so many things about him. I just want to not cry anymore.
I know it's hard. All you can do is focus on the parts of him that are still here.
