The Sixth Sense:

Thanks for stopping in. I hope you can help with my problem.

Last night I had a nightmare. My 7-year-old son and I were walking in the woods down a concrete sidewalk. Suddenly, out of the woods, a bear attacks. I pick up a stick and fend the bear off, yelling for my son to run to the house nearby. (Somehow we are now in a residential neighborhood with houses around.) He won't go; instead he tries to pet the bear. I'm pushing my son away with my leg while shoving the stick in the bear's mouth to keep him from biting. This continues on for an eternity in my dream until I wake up all hot and sweaty, feeling wrung out. I look at the clock, 1:30.

At 2:30 my wife comes to bed. I tell her the bear story. I reach over and lift her nightshirt so that I can fondle her saying, "If I'm going to get hot and sweaty from wrestling bear I want it to be B-A-R-E." But I digress.

My question is Dr. Literotica, why can't I have erotic dreams? I can think about sex all day.
I can think about it in the house,
I can think about it with my spouse,
I can think about it on a boat,
I NEVER think about it with a goat, (so don't go there)
I can think about it here and there,
I can think about it anywhere.
But I have never dreamt about it.

My wife has sexy dreams about us and tells me its great! (Isn't it nice of her to say its me she dreams of!)

Do you people have erotic dreams? Is there a way to induce them? I want to see nude people in my dreams.

Well, I'm off to work now, with my eyelids at half-mast. Have a wonderful day!:D

Well, sorta

The only time I ever seem to hae erotic dreams is when I'm tree planting, which means no sex and I'm always too tired to masturbate for about a month and a half. Wouldn't exactly reccomend it.

From years of meditation (learned in method acting classes, a weirdo experience if there ever was one) and an early interest in the occult and nightly teenage attempts (and supposed successes) to astral project, I have turned into an ocassional lucid sleeper. I am almost always "aware" that I am sleeping, and, every once in a while, I can control the dream to the point where I can fly if I want to, or have sex with whatever girl happens to come across my thoughts. Though the feeling is good, I haven't actually had a "wet dream" in years. I think that by being so aware that it's fake I lose some of the actual passion.

I have found that if you wake up early, before dawn, putter around for an hour or so, THEN go back to sleep, my dreams are much more intense, and vivid. Soemthing about disturbing your alpha sleep by being half awake, and feeding it new sensory info -- who knows? I just know that if I go back to bed after waking at around 5am that my dreams are much more lucid, intense, and sensory.

Erotic dreams...

Yeah, I've had 'em before! (Go fig, huh?) ;) As I lay down and start to drift to sleep, I "day dream". I suppose it's kinda like suggestions for my subconscious mind, a prologue so to speak. As I drift into a deep sleep, sometimes my dreams are sexual and sometimes they're not. Hell, sometimes I don't even remember my dreams. :)

Nyquil as a fantasy inducer

I have erotic dreams on a regular basis,I trained in lucid dreaming and yogic meditations and find that I can conciously alter the beginning of my dreams and thus produce a tasty fantasy...I also have found due to a profound sinus infection/flu that nyquil puts me into a trance like state...have been on nyquil for two days and do not feel much better but my drug induced hazes are giving me awesome sexual dreams...I am far too ill to act on them but they sure are fun...HP I am sorry I droppped the roleplay ball-should we start a 1930's private dick one just for us???...HP I have numerous theories on the bear dream...let me know if you want to hear them...DCL method acting for me was the strangest experience I'd had also-made me glad to get into the costuming end of things.

Thanks for the responses

Not very many responses. I will guess that means that the majority of the people here don't have erotic dreams or that they don't know what triggers them. I don't think you can really predict what kind of dreams you can have, although, I know from experience food or an illness sure does effect the vividness or the physical activity I experience. I hate having a dream and wake up exhausted.

Reoccurring dreams are especially interesting. If only I could select from a play list! I had one as a grade school age child that I still do not know if I was dreaming or , I hate to sound mystical, having a vision. Several nights I remember waking up, sitting up and looking at my open bedroom door. Coming in my room was a male lion. He appeared to be roaring but there was no sound. I'd close my eyes to make it go away. When I opened them the lion was approaching the bed. I'd close my eyes again. Opening them again the lion would charge my bed and leap with front claws extended like an attack. I'd get under the covers and cringe, waiting for the lion's weight to fall on me. I still swear I was awake and it's a vivid memory. EG maybe you'd like to take a wack at interpreting that one. LOL

The last erotic dream I had was about Sherman Hemsley. I didn't sleep for a week.

YOW! Poor darilin'. I hope that wasn't your last. I'll be right back. I want to forward your post to the Sherman Hemsley fan club.

I think I've experienced something akin to that. It's almost like a semiconscious state? I've even been able to consciously manipulate some of my dreams in that mode. I just want one of those unprovoked, unexpected, hot dreams. lol

I hate having a dream that I want to remember while I'm having it, then, I wake up with a nice relaxed feeling but can't remember the content. It would be just my luck that I'm having erotic dreams and those are the ones I can't remember! Argh!

*Sigh* Lucky you. ( Pause for selfpity party. Violin music softly plays)

HP I am sorry I droppped the roleplay ball-should we start a 1930's private dick one just for us???

Thanks for the offer but I think I will pass on role-play for a while.

Absolutely! I posted it just for that reason. I expected some serious and some funny interpretations. So give it to me EG! ;)

I do!

I have erotic dreams.. even some recurring ones!

I have written a couple down and editing them for submission to Literotica under the guise of stories (only a few minor modifications from the dream for readability)

have absolutly no idea about the bear though..

Do you dream in Colour or monochrome? 9 people out of 10 aparently have monochrome dreams.. I am one of the lucky colour people.. absolutely vibrant colour that is in itself an integral part of the dream.. fresh beautiful healty bright green grass, sparkling bright blue water, I once even had sunshine yellow curtains (which is definatly not a personal goal of mine) but everything is crystal clear technicolour, no fuzzy lines, no haze in the distance, no chopping and changing of scenes.. I love my dreams.

I have also had dreams that were not scenes as such.. (walking through a forest, that sort of thing) but are in fact words on a page in a book, and the dream is the book. there is no sense of self, I cant see my hands, it is like my vision is just the page. I have detail right down to page numbers and chapter titles. I turn the page (with my hand that doesn't exist) and continue reading. The stories are phenomonal.. so well written, such a brilliant story.. if only I could remember the story long enough to write it down in the morning...

Anyway, I am told that when you dream in colour and your dreams are usually monochrome, that they likely mean more if you want to get them interpreted.
Does anyone here do interpretations? there is one thats really bugging me

OK I'm jelous of you too!

I stayed awake long enough to make sure I remembered this one because it was so real. I could feel the fear and physical struggle. A very intense experience.

I guess I'm one of the luck color dreamers. But like you I have all types. This thread reminded me of a Sienfeld episode where Jerry dreams a joke. He wakes up and writes it down because it seems so funny. In the morning he reads the note and can't figure out what the joke was and what was so funny. I know the feeling. lol
