hey gang
been a while since i last posted, so i thought i would give you something from one of tom brown's books. he's not really a shaman, but it is a nice paragraph for everyone, i'm sure he won't mind

"Trying to live a spiritual life in modern society is the most difficult path one can walk. it is a path of pain, isolation, and of sahkenf faith, but that is the only way our vision can become reality. Thus the true Quest in life is to live the philosophy of the earth withing the confines of humanity. Thre is no church or temple we need to seek peace, for ours is the temple of the wilderness. There are no spiritual leaders, for our hearts are the only leader. Our numbers are scattered, few speak our language or understand the things that we live. Thus we walk this path alone, for each vision, each Quest, is unique to the individual. But we must walk within society or our vision dies, for one who is not living their vision, is living death."

Hi all - went to the link about animal totems and short of paying someone to figure this out for me - is there a way I can discern my animals? I'm very close to all my cats - my little lions and tigers but as far as being "confronted" with specific animals like CountryGent was - I'm not sure. Or maybe I'm just missing the subtlties that have been revealed to me. I need to do much work on focusing myself down and not being so spread out and random.
