And Vishnu's gall bladder, don'tcha know.

This Bizzy will certainly be happy to pick shit with the chickens. Tell him that the mouse shat in the pepper and please to pick it out.

P/T didn't solve much today, but it wasn't as bad afterward as it was before. Work was lumpy. There could be a leapfrog of some kind or another. I don't know - and it's not my call.

I've set up a deal to get a Smith Corona '03A3 rifle, which has been reamed out to a .308 Norma magnum, on Sunday. Cheap. They don't make Smith receivers any more either. Heh . . . .

Happy Saturday!!!!!

Hallowe'en????? Bah humbug!!!!!

There be stimulus today, but not much, and some other errands, too. The rifle shopping trip is Sunday. I really didn't want to add another calibre, but I will be. Oh well . . . .

I can see why this is a problem crew...

It is full of THE STUPID! You can't get mad at them, you can't improve them, all you can do is be patient and keep explaining the simplest things over and over and over...

;)

Thank goodness this is something Lit has trained me well for. :D

Bless your widdle pointed head, Honey. I've been exactly where you are. What I have done is to assign tasks singly - no multiple tasks to get confused about. No list of things to work from, none of that shit like they dump in my lap without any guidance. I have been known to get very angry at people like that, but if you can get their attention and if they'll keep working at something without too much chatter, I have come to find a measure of patience with their kind.

I've also come to appreciate what I now call The Useful Idiot, the guy you just don't like but who will work. They usually get 90% of a job right, or right enough. Turn them loose, let them do what they will, and then just figure to go behind them and find the buggers that still need fixin'. They can make good help and will (usually, or at least on my job) stay out from under your feet.

Stunning!

A stunning cunt?

As opposed to, say, circus midgets, who do cunning stunts???

I know the feeling. Just looking at the 5X3 debate makes me shake my head at all of the purposeful stupid in the world...

I needed a laugh before work...

;) ;)

I only have a partial crew tonight, some people just had to do Halloween and skip the ass-fucking that we are forced to take with the time change.

Unless upper management changed its mind today.

I'll probably instruct the crew to engage in a one-hour sit down.

That Americans cling to their guns is just the way it is.

That the US lost less than 60000 during 20 years in Vietnam is sad. That more than 30000 Americans are killed with guns by themselves or other Americans every year is tragic. (That is ten times what was lost in an actual war per year!)

But anyway, that is American domestic politics.... Honestly, who cares?
And junk food combined with the world's most inefficient healthcare system (measured in health relative to amount spent) still kill Americans at a much higher rate.

But the horrible thing is, that a bit of a basic historical knowledge would make the propaganda less stupid!

Leonidas had a force of 7000 men. (Not just 300).
The historical bragging says, that the opposing force was a million, but it is far more likely, that it was something along the lines of 100000-150000.
That is still an overwhelming force, but Leonidas made the very wise choise of the pass for the blocking position.
A position where it was actually possible to halt the enemy with a relatively small force (still not just 300, more than 20 times as many).
And they held them for almost a week.
(Three days of actual fighting)
Once Leonidas became aware that he was being outflanked, he decided to save the main force, staying behind with a force of some 1400 men... Of whom 300 were Spartans.

They bought the time needed, but they were slaughtered in less than a day.
It is hard for me to see, how that is "fail to disarm"?

And that is the really sad part of this piece of propaganda!
Not doing their bloody homework!
(And believing that a Hollywood movie is the eternal truth. It is fine to be armed, but armed and stupid, that is problematic!)

Gun-loving is one of the national religions, along with NASCAR, NFL football, and illiterate Xianity. Gunpowder (well, any propellant) is a substance of abuse like heroin, sugar, and corn oil. USA is a junkie nation. So?

And that is the really sad part of this piece of propaganda!

Propaganda always ignores or filters inconvenient truths, i.e. history and reality. They did their homework and chose to use the myth. Repeat falsity often enough and it becomes truth -- the Big Lie technique. Reactionaries have no other tool.

But this ain't sexy. Let's get back to the sex.

Are you gonna organize a REDWAVE-style strike and educate the masses in the evils of Our Current System?

That kind of thing alwasy goes over big with Manglement.

A bit lead balloon . . . .

Okay, I'm off to bed. I have sore-n-injured bits to rest and Stimulus pretty well tired me out, too.

...

Management buckled.
