And . . . it's Friday night, the end of a long work week, and save for being on call, I have this weekend off. No day job, no second job, no stimulus work, no side job. JUst studying for the EPA HVAC test.

I know that most of you already know what your old buddy, Wat, thinks of such interloping shenanigans, so I shall refrain from a tirade.

Hmmm, intense studying . . . .

Mondo milkers.

Happy Saturday!!!

For the new Magnum? I like the scope that came with it. Six power, fixed, fewer moving parts, less to break. If I can get good with this one at distance, then I'll look into a better grade of optics in an eight power fixed. Easy viewing at half a mile should be more than sufficient to my purposes.

She has that studious look . . . .

This one, on the other hand . . . .

She looks more like the professor...

;)

I still use iron sights. I'm a tad bit old-fashioned.

I read this this morning and had to laugh:

Inshallah

Dane said there are many brave Afghan soldiers committed to battling for their nation. “But a big part of the problem is cultural and religious,” he said. “Do you know what inshallah means?” I answered that it had something to do with the will of Allah. “Exactly. Means ‘if Allah wills it.’ And it applies to everything in their lives, every single thing they do.”

An example? “In our marksmanship training we learn to concentrate, sight precisely on the target, and hold our breath to steady our aim as we squeeze the trigger,” explained the young soldier. “We practice and practice and learn just what we need to do for a successful shot. But for an Afghan soldier, inshallah means that he’ll only hit the target if Allah wants it to happen. So marksmanship doesn’t really matter. The bullet can come out and go all over the place“ – here he waved his index finger in a jaggedy trajectory through the air – “but if Allah wants it to happen, that bullet will somehow find its way into the heart of the enemy fighter.”

Oh Honey, trust your Wat, most all the rest of my stuff is iron. Sights of Iron are just like Word of Iron. Neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor gloom of night . . .

Nor dropping the damn weapon, either.

And these new-fangled sights with batt'ries??? Are you fuckin' serious???? They say they're the shit, but that big talk ain't worth doodly squat!!!

But I do need to scarf up some good peepsights to replace some of these old-school military rear sights. The Eurotrash rifles are lame in that department. I'm eyeballing my Swedish Mauser whilst I type.

I had to take some of the iron out of my coffee because of this b/p thing. I need to go back in to get rechecked, but who has time?

I'll get moving here shortly.

Shoving EPA-mandated HVAC crap into my head so's I can pass a test. Talk about fun . . . .

It home study, so there will be no Hot For Teacher moments.

Heh. I made a discovery. If I sit on my ass reading 6-week-old Sports Illustrated articles about Aaron Rodgers, I get a low-normal blood pressure reading . . . and the Pack loses.

Who would have thought it?

That was the high point of the day. The wheels fell off shortly after that and it's been an interesting day since then.

Yes, Ancient Chinese Curse kind of interesting. 8/

Six weeks ago, there was a lot of hope in the NFL.

Now, not so much. Coaches already getting canned.

I have some crew I would like to can. Hell, they could can me! I couldn't care less...

Happy Monday!!! There will be day work all week, second job work for three days, and maybe some extra work somewhere along the line.

My boss might get canned. I spent an hour with him yesterday trying to figure out what was wrong with a package unit furnace. It still isn't working. He'll be late today because his lemon truck has sprung a leak on him.

And he wouldn't try the can of Gum-M-Up that I suggested.

I wonder if I had been more forceful . . . .
