The scent of a person.

I was seeing a guy a while back, and I really liked his smell. He never wore deodorant; because he's half-native, he said. Anyway, his body-smell was a very subtle, toned-down version of the smell of our collective sex. Deliciously yummy and seductive. I would lie in the crook under his arm and try to drown in the scent.

I hate to say it...but BayRum makes me giddy. Reminds me of no one...but it does stop me in my tracks.

Purchase of that stuff ought to be by license and registration with the Hormonal Authorities...it really does literally freeze women in their trax. (thanx for the backup)

Amazing shit...imagine Bay Rum, a wolly turtleneck sweater and a Lab puppy?...danger Will Robinson, danger!

Lance,

On the rare occasion that I do wear fragrance, I often find myself drifting toward more masculine scents. Always light, but distinctly less "girly". From your position as a scent connoiseur, would you say there is appeal to a masculine scent on a woman's skin? I know that it's an entirely subjective question, but I was wondering if you had any ideas.

Edited to add the question that spawned the wonderings: What would Bay Rum smell like on a woman?

But I do have a bottle of Old Spice. It's my Super Secret Lady Killer. (BayRum is better; Burt's Bees makes a version that stops women dead in their trax.)

I hear what you're saying, SLG. There is a school of thought which suggests men's fragrances are made to please a man's olfactories, and vice versa.

So, yes, some women smell hawwwwt wearing so-called "men's" fragrances.

Me, I dig spicy ( Like Opium) on some women, citrusy (like Jazz) on others, "soft " on others, etc.

I still like the classic floral stuff like Chanel on a woman in a little black dress and heels.

You're also right about natural scents and the scent of sex on skin.

My personal view is that something subtle & classic mixed with sexjuice on one's pulse points is pretty hard to beat in terms of attracting someone.

Lance

PS Edited to add....Bay Rum is mostly cinammon, cloves and bay leaves, so I see a woman at the seashore, hair atangle & eyes aglint. What's there NOT to like?!

I'm speechless.

To reference the beginnings of this thread....each of us has our own signature scent, and we tend to bond with people of our "pack" regardless of the artificial stuff masking our tribal imperatives.

Hugging either of my children reinforces it to me all the time.

I'm sure I could identify each of them simply by kissing their heads were I blind.

Pubic clippings tucked into a card make a scent loaded reminder to a lover far away.

My scent is Obsession or Chrome.

I have a fem friend who keeps these around just to bring
back memories of us.

I keep her scented envelopes for the same reason.

A friend I once had smelled like man. That's the only way I can explain it. He rarely wore cologne, or anything, but his au naturel scent just had "man" all over it and it was yuummmm. When he did wear a scent, it was always something spicy and tasty. I have yet to smell anyone with that particular scent of man, but I'm always sniffin'.

everyone's got a scent though yours may be a bit more subtle.

I've always worn Cool Waters. I'm told the scent is very sensous on me? I don't know it's hard to smell yourself!:D

Almost every woman I've been with tells me I smell like fresh baked bread??@!? When I do wear a scent it is Hugo Boss, I love that shit.

I'm on the outs with this one.

Rather then any "perfumes" on a man, I like him to smell just like me....fresh, soapy clean and warmed by sunshine with the "smell" of outside on his clothing and in his hair. Combine that with the smell of hay or horse flesh or leather....I'm in heaven.

I'll wear a light perfume if I'm out for the evening, but outside of that, I'm a Dove girl and I shampoo with Herbal Essence, moisturize with "Oceanic" - nothing exotic, nothing expensive, I'm just me.

This is what I’m talking about. Not perfumes, no colognes, just essence of man.

Then I know exactly what you mean. It's what all those advertisements try to capture. When I think of "MAN", I'm captivated by the (shaving?) commercial of the young father and son standing in front of the bathroom mirror in their briefs...just them, just the boys. I can see myself belonging to those boys and them to me....it's the ideal of what a MAN should be. Scent works the same way.

I haven't smelled her yet...Soon I will...I want to sniff of her hair..I want to bury my head into her shoulder and kiss her neck...run my tongue along her jawline...all the while breathing in her intoxicating aroma...*shudder*...Can't wait...*sigh* :D

I love the smell of patchouli...I can't wear it ofetn because it irritates my skin...anybody else like it?

Your fantasy man is a stablehand??:D

yes! do you know how many erotic fantasies of mine star a stable hand?

And besides, I'm a firm believer of sticking with what you're familiar with. Horses, hay, leather and cowboy hats are what I know.
