There seems to be some angst floating about so we can keep the other threads polite and anyone with a nasty comment can lay it out right here. Don't expect me to care though.

Ohhhh Yeee Haw .........smiles........good morning Mr Betticus......to early in my day for angst (6.28am) ..............though IF I find some I promise to bring it straight here ;) is that suitable to you :rose:

You didn't really finish your story. You copped out and went bitchy.
I want you to finish your story.'

From the 24th I have had 2 meals and some potato chips chewed into a pulp, my Dad is eating my Belgian truffles, my head won't stop hurting, and I'm cranky.
This board has replaced food for me until I can eat again.
You need to finish your story.

Is the English 'angst' some fancy 'we're using foreign words' thing and means the same as the original German word, translated fear/anguish?

*kicks you in the arse*

if you continue whining after this warning, well, i shall be forced to mail my savage attack poodle to your house!

It's not really a fancy using foreign words thing, just a word we appropriated like so many others...and yeah angst generally equates to anguish of some sort when it's being used properly.

According to Encarta:
angst [ angkst, aangkst ]
noun
Definitions:

1. existentialist dread: in existentialist philosophy, a feeling of dread arising from an awareness of free choice

2. anxiety: any feeling of dread or anxiety
[Early 20th century. < German]

It seems to be the same, but then again most english words have been stolen from other languages LOL

Hijack warning
*waves to dolf*

Having had my parents here for three days I NEED shiny things NOW

You're giving me permission to nag? :nana: You're gonna wish you hadn't.

Stop drinking! You're killing your liver!

And brioche? You don't seem certain . . . are you sure you want him to finish his story? You really need to start making yourself more clear. *shakes head*

That shirt sounds perfect for you and for Dolf, wonder if they do one about handbags LOL?

Just had a late Christmas present arrive from Andante and his kids ~ A bright red sequinned love heart handbag :D:D:D

There definitely does seem to be some tension on the board.

I feel like flaming everyone, constantly, I don't know whats going on.

Maybe I should lay low until the next mood cycle.

I'm feeling the same way. Of course I tend to get moody around the holidays.

I got one gift, from my father. Extra heavy thermal underwear. I live in the desert.

I've gotten everyone else to just stop sending me stuff but he won't respect my wishes in that regard.

I didn't think you sounded like a whiney toddler, just really certain and I thought teasing you might make you feel a bit better. You know - laughter is the best medicine?

Reminds me of last week. I was at my aunts and uncles and it started to snow and sleet in portland. K called me up and told me he wanted me to come home NOW. He said it like six times.

I finally said "I heard you!"

I got off the phone and was telling my aunt that I had to go, and she said 'oh do you have to?'.

I said "Well K said he wants me to come home now, then he said he wants me to come home, then he said he wants me to come home, then he said it again . . . "

My aunt interupted at this point to say "Did you say 'Honey, I'm not sure what you want. You need to be more clear."

I love my aunt. LOL

Hey, the nights are cold in a desert. And I live in a (semi-arid) desert too!
