Okay, so here's the thing. I keep seeing books mentioned in various threads and not being able to find them again later. So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna start this thread. :p

So, when you post, please add as much info as possible. Name and author are a good start; but if you know publisher and stuff that'd be really cool, too. On mine I'm going to do the three star thing. If it's something I really like, it'll have three stars, if I found it good but not really a must have, it'll be a two and if it's a "pick it up if you happen to find it on sale and have the $$$ to blow" it'll have one.
And of course no stars means "as soon as I can get it to the used bookstore it's going".

edited to add These don't have to be only bdsm, or only D/s books. Some of the stuff on my list are going to be general sexuality or psychology. Also, the rating system is optional.

You have a used bookstore that will take openly kinky books (other than the Beauty series, of course)? OMG! I know you don't live in Eastern Tennessee, or any other part of the Deep South Bible Belt!

In this part of the South we hide our kinky books at one house and once a month or so have a kinky book swap. Talk about let's make a deal!! Some deals have to be seen to be believed......

non-fiction

"Screw the roses, send me the thorns".. By Miller and Devon. *** I have the Mystic Rose edition

I liked it; very good overview of bdsm-ing and D/s-ing presented in a friendly and non scary manner.

"The Loving Dominant" by John Warren (10th anniversary edition, has some revisions from the first) ** I have the Rhino Press version

Again, a very good overview. I really enjoyed the insights into the way a PYL's mind works. I particularly enjoyed the essay by, his sub, Libby, as well as his writing about scene preperations.

Psychopathia Sexualis, by Richard von Krafft-Ebing. No stars because I'm only halfway through it. Published by Scarborough House in New York

Very interesting so far.

Different Loving, Gloria Brame ** I forgot who the publisher was; and I'm too laxy tonight to go look.

Very good, a bit dry. I thought it was a little short on the bdsm and D/s areas, but it did cover some other paraphilias pretty well too.

The Art of Erotic Submission, by Claudia Varin. *** I can't rememberr who the publisher is.

I liked it. I think I'm in love with her Lord. But it was interesting, especially on the basis of her transition from ProDomme to private submissive.

The Bottoming Book, by Eastman and Liszt. Greenery Press. **

Great if you have a bdsm community to put their suggestions to work. It will inspire mad jealousy if you don't!

the Erotomaniac (the Erotic Life of Henry Soencer Ashbee) by Ian Gibson
Published by De Capo

I'm only half way through this one, too. It's not bdsm or D/s; it's the autobiography of a Victorian Gentlemen who was at odds with Victorian sensibililities. He ended up having on of the most extensive libraries of Victorian Erotica. His especial kink seemed to be flagelation. Right now, I'm thinking 3 stars.

That's all for now, I have more, but I'll add them later. Don't want to tease the PYL's with a geek fetish!!

Yup.. Even though Canadian law tends to be somewhat Victorian, we do have one in town that has an erotica section. Of course, it's in the back room and they do card you. They also slip some of these things into the psychology section!

ON sexuality
get a copy of the "Harrad Experment"
in the back of it is a hugh bibliography
