Monica and Bill's sexual relationship might constitute the most famous blowjob in American history. The Republicans just can't get over the fact that Clinton got his dick sucked in the White House from a younger woman, and an intern at that! For shame, for shame. We can't just let the man deal with this with his wife, we can't let the man forget something that happened almost 5 years ago. Hell, it's our main complaint with Clinton even though he isn't in the political spotlight anymore.

So this got me thinking, where are all the stories about the randy Republicans? Here's some food for thought:

  • Rep. Henry Hyde Broke up a family during his seven year adulterous affair!
  • Mike Bowers Cheated on his wife for FIFTEEN YEARS!
  • George Bush Linda Tripp says had he an affair with a woman named "Jennifer"
  • Newt Gingrich Dumped his ex-wife while she was in a hospital bed suffering from cancer....
  • Bob Dole Cheated on his first wife with his current wife, Elizabeth Dole.
  • Former Rep. Bob Dornan Reported to have cheated on and beaten his wife.
  • John Linder Has a wandering eye for his female staff members.
  • Ronald Reagan Dumped Jane Wyman by cheating on her with several Hollywood starlets
  • Guy Millner Has been married three times, partly because he has sex with women he isn't married to....
  • Rush Limbaugh cheated on two of his three wives...
  • Mitch Skandalakis Hired hookers from his Las Vegas hotel room!
  • Michael Deaver Was so drunk he doesn't remember hiring hookers...
  • Bill Randall A Florida Congressional candidate and minister, he fathered an illegitimate child during his affair!
  • Bill McCartney Promise Keepers founder who didn't keep his Promise to his wife and then lied about it for 20 years!
  • Rep. Dan Burton Had at least six adulterous affairs, and fathered a bastard son who, today, he ignores!!
  • Rep. Bob Barr Cheated on all three of his wives - and coerced one into having an abortion - then lied about it!
  • Rudolph Giuliani Boffs his assistant in Gracie Mansion while his wife stays home with the kids!
  • Sen. Strom Thurmond Cheated on his fourth wife at age 88!!
  • Gilbert Davis Paula Jones' attorney, who allowed himself to be videotaped DrUnK during his adultery!
  • Beverly Russell The Christian Coalition coordinator who molested his stepdaughter Susan Smith, who later killed her own kids.

Shame, shame on you, lavy, for overlooking the larger issue in favor of the relatively small one.

The issue, for me and for a great number of people to whom I'd spoken about the whole thing when it was occurring had nothing really to do with sex.

It had to do with basic honesty.

Okay, it did have something to do with sex in that he repeatedly reneged on his marriage vows to his wife. But more important to me is that he also broke the vow he took in court when testfying.

It established to me a pattern of vow-breaking that concerned me. If he would break those vows so cavalierly, how seriously would he treat the vow he took at President? As it happened, he didn't take that one seriously either.

It wasn't sex, it was the ability to keep a solemn vow.

So, the republicans should be the only ones having fun?

Lavy, you're better than this. You very well know both sides are filled with hypocritical finger pointers that are full of crap. The Bill and Monica thing was merely a blip on the radar screen in terms of news worthy. However, yes it was blown, pardon the pun, way out of context by the right. Clinton was just a long line of politicians/powerful men that cannot keep their willie to themselves. His big flaw was perjury under oath.

Both sides have plenty of horndogs with many indiscretions.

BBW,

It's just that in every thread about Clinton or the Republicans, the blowjob jab is thrown out there.

That's why I started this. It's ridiculous. Of course both sides are hypocritical, I think most Democrats are just sick of the bullshit thrown into otherwise sane rational arguments. :)

It's not just Democrats, lavy, and you know this, too. ;)

blah blah. got me :D

hell I dont like either of 'em. I enjoy all their hypocrisy.

Thanks Lavvy,
for that entertaining list.

To me there were 2 outrages.

1) Clinton lied under oath to save himself. He was a lawyer. He knew better. Our legal system crumbles if everyone is allowed to lie in court to make themself look good. He set a terrible example.

2) The members of Congress debated sexual misconduct instead.
Maybe they didn't understand the charge. Maybe they think lawyers & politicians are above the law. They set a terrible example.

Tough tits. The guy is a moral scumbag. While getting blown isn't, in and of itself, worthy of impeachmnet, the man should have had enough sense to keep his cock out of a 21-yr.-old intern.

He should have had more sense. Too bad for him it destroyed his legacy, along with all his other flings and lies. All in all he wasn't a bad president. Not a great one, but not a bad one either. Unfortunately, since he couldn't control his libido, now he's associated mainly with poking an intern with a cigar. Boo-fucking-hoo.

It's not the Republicans fault, it's Bill Clintons. He gave them just enough ammo so that they kept their sights on him all the time. If he had kept his dick in his pants, if he hadn't abused so many women, and if he hadn't gotten caught lying so many times, he would have gotten out of the white house looking a lot better, AND Al gore would probably be there today.

PC, in a pun that delights me, is right. The guy was probably the sleaziest guy to inhabit the White House. Ever. Hands down.

But, as opposed to Nixon, it was a fairly harmless sleazy. Like the guy in your fraternity who picked up strippers whenever you went to the really dirty rippers.

I don't disagree. Watergate was worse than anything Clinton was proven to do. There's a lot of stuff that no one could prove, but that's water under the bridge.

I'm just saying Clinton took a perfectly good birthday party and crashed it himself, and he has no one else to blame. He could have walked away looking really good for a lot of what he did. Now he has to spend all his time trying to rewrite history and rebuild his rep.

That's the worst thing. Instead of going to build houses or just fading away like good presidents do, we have to listen to his stupid fucking opinions on everything.

Please Bill, just shut the fuck up.

One quibble, a lot of people still like Bill, a lot of people want to hear his opinions. If your bizarre constitution didn't have some arbitrary term limit on your head of government he'd be your president.

So he does alright for himself by doing what he does. Which is his business I suppose.

I never said he didn't have the right. I know though, our constitution is so "bizarre". Did you know it was written on hemp paper?

No wonder we're so fucking weird.

No, but his continued popularity certainly would make an impartial outside observer like myself think that there are certain folks in your country who would like the opinion of an experienced statesman who isn't, you know, dumb as a bag of hammers.

Dude, your outside-ness is a detriment here, not an asset. In this country we are definitely suffering from a Clinton hangover.

Al Gore lost, in part, because America was/is sick of Clinton. Sure, he will always have his supporters, but the majority of America is pretty tired of Bill Clinton.

You should also remember that he campaigned pretty hard in the last election for many candidates, and a lot of them lost. Even Erskine Bowles, from his own administration lost, to Elizabeth dole. The only person who seems to be doing well from the Clinton administration is Hillary, but she is such a polarizing figure it's ridiculous.

Guys like Clinton & Nixon , with their impressive intelligence & lying abillity- are pretty successful negotiators, & useful as presidents.

I think the public prefers likeable guys such as Reagan & G W Bush, that can't outsmart them.
