i went to the corner store last night for girl supplies. Whatever possessed them to put the Tampax behind the counter like cigarettes, i have no idea... but the clerk was this guy who barely spoke English. i was trying to explain to him what i wanted, and he was SO not getting it. He showed me everything from condoms to lighters. His wife was there, she didn't know what i was talking about either. Finally he just told me to come behind the counter and get it myself.

Then he looked horrified. i figure... don't sell them then, if the idea repulses you so much! Damn.

When i get my period, i just feel punky and kind of ick... so i take a lot of showers. i hate feeling dirty... am i the only girl who will shower 3, 4 times a day when on her period, or am i alone in my obsessiveness? i also invariably have dreams involving blood the night before i start. This time, it was a nightmare where i got a job in a slaughterhouse and my job was to clean the floor and wash blood down the drains after they killed pigs.

Come on girlies, ante up. Any and all amusing menstrual anecdotes or bizarre period-induced dreams, post 'em.

talking about bleeding just isn't the same when starfish isn't here.

I went on the shot because of the extreme pain I experienced when getting my period. Now I don't get it at all...THANK GOD What a useless waste of 5 days out of every month

I hate when people say, "this thread has already been done, blah blah blah" so I promise I'm only linking you to this because it's worth the read.

Enjoy!

And long live Starfish, wherever the hell she's been.

i was unaware of that thread... i'm reading it now...
pretty good stuff!
i still want to know though... does anyone else get the blood dream thing happening?

I'm on the shot, too, but only because I had this abnormally long period, and even birth control pills couldn't curb it. I do enjoy it as a birth control option, as well as a period-remover.

And no, I don't get the bloody dreams.. never did.. not related to period, anyway.

<<anyone else get the blood dream thing happening?>>

i too...before my 'blood days'
strong dreams of violent and blood.

Ok i think the "this is terrible" thing is all just a smoke screen.

i know periods are fun for women.

I have seen the commercials.... women get to go horse back riding, surfing, have parties!

yup, its all just to make us guys THINK you suffer ;)

I'm sorry but that's just gross to me. But to each their own!

LOL!

And the line we all got about "a tablespoon every month" is THE biggest lie I've ever heard. It even beats "I promise I won't cum in your mouth"

How about some testimonials from converts? And Diva cup = the keeper, for those not in the know.

I just got it before this last month's period. I got it in on the first try and had zero problems the whole way through. My previous period was half a day - mondo stressed because of the bar - so this one made up for it, and I still had no problems.

You can wear it for up to 12 hours at a time, which I did. I worked out - pilates, swimming, weight lifting, jogging - all without having to worry about any leaks.

And it takes up no space in the cabinet, unlike the boxes and boxes of tampons and pads. And that translates into no waste in my trash can, or in the landfill. What's not to love?

Get a Keeper (see Cheyenne for details)! When it's time to dump the contents you can stick it in a pail. It'll also stem the gush. Very convenient without the messy collection process.

BUMP!

got it, used it, love it.

Everything everyone said was true. I did feel like I had to pee more often, the first couple days. I love how it doesn't dry me out. It's like a pearl in an oyster - my body just seems to go, oh, there's something weird there -make a little extra wetness, keeps it comfortable. It's clean, it's neat, it's easy, I love the fact that I never have to buy tampons again, ever...

here's the link again, for those who don't want to read the whole thread -
www.thekeeper.com

and no mess anywhere, not sheets, not panties.. it's the coolest thing in the world!

Eventually the Keeper will take over the world. :)

Nah, not really. Too many women still think of their period as "Aunt Flo" or "their visiting friend." I suspect they will never be comfortable enough with their own period to consider something like the Keeper. If you don't consider your period to be just another bodily function to deal with, the Keeper probably isn't for you. It definitely IS different from the other products out there.

Thank you. I couldn't remember the name. For some reason, Diva Cup is easier to remember than the Keeper, which is the one I have.

And yes, it's made my period a non-issue. I can't believe I spent 15 years constantly worrying about leaks and mess from using tampons and pads.

All hail the Keeper!

To answer the question, nope, never had any blood dreams. And now that I use the Diva Cup, I feel cleaner to boot. I only have to look at blood tiwce a day, instead of dealing with all of those blood soaked feminine hygeine products in my panties and then in the trash. It's fabulous.
