Was anybody else there today for the final performance? It was my first opera and I was like "meh" during the first act but when the curtain went up for act two -- that opening note that David Butt Philip sang...made me cry. And then he took me on a rollercoaster ride! I'm looking forward to going again...

Opera is an acquired taste. Definatly not for everyone. For me it's a unique experience.

I watched St. John's win the Big East tournament at Madison Square Garden on tv. That's pretty close.

Even if you're not an opera fan....going to the Met should be on your experience list.

Like going to the Grand Canyon even if you're not a geologist or going to Alaska even if you're not onto bears and "outdoor stuff".

A wonderful place and treasured memory.

Sadly, living on the other side of the continent, I have to settle for the HD theater broadcasts.

On the bright side; they're educational with interviews and behind the scenes looks during the intermissions...and they're fun...you don't have to get dressed up and you can eat popcorn and Junior Mints.
