The Official Author's Hangout Summer Lovin' Contest Support Thread

Hurrah! My first two stories finally posted. Hey, how do you post for a contest? Is it the same as posting a regular story? Or do you have to post it in a special place?

It's the same, except you put a note in the notes field saying your story is for the contest. Go to this page, which has the rules and dates for the summer contest.

When submitting your story:

- Author must copy and paste the phrase "SUMMER LOVIN STORY CONTEST 2012" in the "Notes" field of the submission. Please do not forget to put this EXACT phrase IN THE NOTES FIELD - NOT the description field or anywhere else. In fact, we recommend that you COPY & PASTE it into the NOTES field to avoid typos. If it is not in the NOTES field – or if it's typoed - we cannot easily find your story and it may not be approved in a timely manner to be entered into the contest!!

Weird. The Lit story section works fine for me if I use AOL, but on Firefox or IE, it's only been working sometimes for over a week now. It says 'problem loading page' for a few hours, and then it works for a few hours.

I'm surprised no one else is having this issue.

Probably something to do with Java. Make sure you have it enabled in your browser.

I use Firefox and it works fine.

Google Chrome works for me, although the forum.literotica.com link is slow at night.

With Firefox, try logging out and then back in to reset the cookie. The same for IE, although why anyone would use IE for anything but updates is beyond me.

Anyone please!

Is it too early to submit my work for the summer contest? It say's Aug 21 or a little before, how long is a "little".

From past experience, 2 or 3 days is a little but 4 would probably help Laurel with the overload from the contest. Just don't forget to put the phrase "SUMMER LOVIN STORY CONTEST 2012" in the "Notes" field of the submission.

I guess the first contestants are leaving the enclosure and starting the walk down to the starting gate. Time to get out the handicapping sheets and the old formbooks, and try to figure this one out.

Unhappily, a lot of starters I'd like to see will be missing: LunaEroticaMystica, NT, is out for health reasons; DG Hear, MFG's, potential entry was too long, so it's posting in chapters; Darkniciad doesn't seem to have an entry (possibly because he placed in N-Day). I was hoping Roden Addison, my candidiate for Rookie of the Year, would have an entry, but it seems not. D_Lynn has turned pro, as has SilkStockingsLover, so they'll probably be writing for dollars elsewhere.

Still, should be interesting to try to handicap.

Although I have had very little time to write, I do hope to finish the story I started for this. It won't be ready at the start date but if I could get the time I could get it ready by the end. I think.

So I was all set on my idea that was for the LW category, but as I was coming home from the college drop off of daughter number one, I came up with another story possibly for the romance category - we'll see. I'll start plugging away on it tomorrow.

"Is it too early to submit my work for the summer contest? It say's Aug 21 or a little before, how long is a "little"."

That is exactly what I was coming here to ask!

"From past experience, 2 or 3 days is a little but 4 would probably help "

Thanks for the answer, TxRad!

Just submitted mine. And then realized I'd forgotten to add the Summer Contest bit in the Notes. Yes, I've been back to add it! ;)

I can write a short story in a day or two but don't have the desire and now would have to find an editor. I do wish every one who enters the best of luck.

I've submitted stories over a week in advance before. It just sat in queue waiting for the contest.

Getting anxious to post the story for the contest. But will wait to post for another day. Oye vey ;)

Submitted! What sort of things do people usually put as tags? I feel like mine are unhelpful...
