Man, I wish I had that kind of work-ethic... I'm unsure whether I'll be submitting anything for Halloween. I'll be in classes by then, so I might not have much time. I'm starting a second summer story, though, and I think it'll be done in time. Excited for the contest to start, though!

I have submitted two short ones and I'm working on a third longer one I hope to have done before Sept.

We've still got nearly three weeks. I think I'll manage... It's my first time writing third-person, though, so that should be interesting.

I wrote one first person dialogue, I found it hard to write that way than third person.

I once started a story and first wrote person...

but then I couldn't think of a second word so I buried that bunny.

 (I'm sorry, that is a pretty bad joke.)

Ha, my story is my first time writing in first person. Yin and Yang. :)

Interesting! My problem to date with writing third-person has been that I need some sort of ego in the story, and it's more difficult for me to write as the narrator instead. But the story I'm currently working on is going to have a series of one-on-one teasing/fluffing encounters, so first person seemed inadequate. We'll see how it turns out... I hope it gets a lot of comments, just so I can get an idea of how I did...

I may never write in first person again. I took a stab at it for "It's Legal on Other Planets," so I'm stuck with that anytime I want to continue the series, but... gah. I find it way too limiting. I suppose I could look at that as a challenge, but ultimately it's just a frustrating restriction.

Seems to work awfully well for other people, though.

I don't know what I write in half the time. I just write what comes into my mind. My editors have told me I usually write in first person. I usually like to tell a story from the main characters point of view. Lots of quotes " " and such.

When you tell a story in the way of "I did this" and "I did that," then you are telling it in first person, and yes, DG, that's what you usually do. :) There's no right or wrong for using first or third person, or even second, although I think that's harder to carry off.

I generally prefer third person, because I feel it lets me tell a more "complete" story in that I can include POVs from more than one character if I so choose. That's not to say that a first-person story is incomplete, just my way of describing things.

However, I'm working on a first-person story. I don't know why but when I started thinking about this one, it started as "I" and stayed that way. Usually my stories start out in 3d person or quickly shift to it in my head.

I actually have classes also- law school. That's why I'm trying to crank out stories now before things get harder and I won't have any time.

Been editing my summer lovin story since I got home from work. Should have taken a nap first might know what i'm doing then.

Anyone know how to get liquid paper off a monitor screen?

it's been a long week.
