The Official AH “Pastiches de Oggbashan” Story Event Support Thread

There's also an opposing viewpoint that says I'm being distracting and insensitive by submitting. I don't want to be the one who makes that distinction. If there's anyway to tell what I should do I would be very grateful.

So, in an event Ogg supports, you're being 'distracting and insensitive'...

... just by submitting.

Not by submitting bad work or scornful work, just by submitting.

Now, participation in some events (eg Wanda Von Kreesus' annual peasant hunt), might bring a bad judgement down on you, but if somebody is going to judge you just for entering this event, well, I think you can safely ignore them, because they're an idiot.

Michael, I look forward to seeing your yarn.

Vix, is it ok if I join UsuallyPresent and write a 15x50 story?

U.P. is it ok with you? You got there first and I don't want to step on any toes.

I have an idea the I think will work. If I can manage one fifty-word story a day, I should make the deadline with time to spare.

I have no problem with it, and look forward to reading yours! I ‘cheated’ a bit, basing my 15x50 in one of Ogg’s story settings to provide significant background that I could just assume & didn’t have to explain. Lazy? Clever? Mebbe both? Iunno...

Yeah I mean I did describe what I was going to submit and why I thought there was reason to be concerned. If it came across like I was trying to disrespect the event with my story I would feel like a huge asshole. It doesn't appear like that's going to be the case but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks for being amenable, U.P. I've read as many of Ogg's 15x50s as I could identify in his huge oveure. My favorites were stories like "Christmas Wrapping" and "Siblings"- stories where each 50 word piece stands as a story on it's own, but when read together they all form a coherent whole. That's what I'd like to try to do, although I imagine it ratchets up the difficulty.

I have an idea that should be workable, and I have the first three stories written. We'll see if the idea can hold together for twelve more.

I too am unlikely to finish my story on time. I got a lot written in a big burst, but haven't had time to write much since. I'll finish it at some point.

Hey 8letters; thanks for the heads up and that’s completely understandable :) When time and life allow you to finish, we all of course look forward to reading your pastiche and anything else you write!

Hey, UP and Loqui! Sorry for my slow reply; I had a real life emergency that had me off the board since Weds, and I apologize for not getting back to this thread sooner. Thank you both for working together on this; I can’t wait to read your stories!

Just to clarify for any pastiche writers: the How-Tos, such as 50 Stories, are available for all writers to use. The more the merrier! And a possible added challenge: a way to incorporate more Ogg stories (15 stories x 15 Pastiches x 50 words!!!!!)

No problem, Vix. Thanks for pulling this all together. Hope everything turned out ok for you and yours.

Half way there. I have eight 50-word stories in the bank, and ideas for three more. So far I've managed to keep the same narrative thread running through each while they still stand on their own. I think I might just make it.

Just finished my draft. Looking forward to submitting next week.

I have 6000 words and no sex so far... Good thing it's a romance.

But I have a plan! Concerted effort this weekend, and I should be fine.

You've got a good base, nice characters and an interesting premise. They'll get to knockin' boots when the time is right.

Awww, thanks :rose:

Tony's flying solo at the moment. He's in for a shock when he has dinner at Vicky's. :D

Now, serious question. What goes with kimchi pancakes?

Well, holy smokes. I actually just finished my story for this event. First story I've finished in a while. It's quirky, that's for sure. One of the characters is a puffin. With a little more editing and proofreading, it will be ready to submit by the event deadline.

Yay!
Quirky is good. Puffins are iconic. And now EB will have to come up with some other thing to harrass you about. Win-win-win-win.

I did a quick search to see if any other Literotica stories contain the word "puffin." To my surprise I received 30 responses, but it appears that most or all of them are uses of the verb form "puffin'". So I may be the first person here to write an erotic story with a puffin in it.

I should note, just to allay any possible concerns, that there is no bestiality in this story. Or avisodomy, as it were.

You have inspired me. My Ogg story has Biggles as a character and obviously the RAF, and the RAF has an aircraft called the Parnall Puffin. I’m going to write that in🤫

I like that! Maybe everyone who submits can work a puffin into their story somehow.

Bloody hell! Throwing a curve ball now!

I could do a penguin, definitely a sheep, but a puffin? Hmmm.

***edit*** Bugger. Had an idea, but Puffin Books are for kids...

I've finished my fifteen fifties a day ahead of schedule thanks to the holiday. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to squeeze in a puffin, which really is just such a great idea.

I don't supposed anyone would be willing beta-read them to make sure they're "oggy" enough? I'd be happy to return the favor.

I, for one, have already accepted that mine is not Oggy enough. But it was based on an Ogg story, so I'll settle for that.

Mines not based on an Ogg story but it uses the two central characters - and s Puffin.🙀
