The Official AH “Pastiches de Oggbashan” Story Event Support Thread

Thanks again everyone for joining the event, and for your talent and time :D !!

LOL, I don't know about my "talent", but I'm happy to spend my time.

Slowly chipping away at it. The Muse has been under the bonnet trying to kick things into life. It looks like the points on the SU fuel pump are clagged. Hopefully, a bit of Car Maintenance will be all that's needed and I'll get back on the road.

(A poor attempt to tie this back to Ogg’s story...)

Hi. I was so sorry to hear the bad news from Oggbashan, a writer who's submissions page is bookmarked and regularly checked for new stories. I'm sure everyone here wishes him all the best.

The "Pastiches de Oggbashan" sounds like a great idea, although it also sounds like a rather fancy French dessert as well.

I am hoping to be able to write a short story of about 3000 words based on Caroline's Spider-Woman, as seen from the point of view of one of the members of the stag party that night. Spider robots, silk cocoons and soporific gas will likely feature.

This would only be my second story for literotica, so I think I will probably need the help of an editor to make it presentable. If anyone would like to volunteer please let me know.

Good luck! Nice to see you present.

Flick me a pm when you're ready.

Cheers

Anyone willing to edit/review my pastiche to Ogg's "The Worst Chain-Story Ever Ch. 01"? Preferably, someone who's read his story first, of course, since his story was intended to be, in his words, "bad, repetitive and boring in places."

So, maybe if you're a bad editor  or are just up for editing something a bit 'different', please let me know. I'd really appreciate the help.

(By the way, it's ~6,000 words or ~2 Lit Pages, so not terribly long.)

I have two outlines started around Lensky’s Aria. One idea is to continue with Onegin but the third act; the other is to instead write a different grand scena POV, probably the comedia dell’arte of Pagliaccio. Either way, it would be my first foray into Loving Wives, and so I’m going out to get some protective gear.

Question for you, Vix. I know we’re not usually allowed to include URLs in stories, but can you ask Laurel if we can include links in these to Oggs story that were referencing as well as to the list of Oggs stories.

You can put URL's to Literotica pages in your stories. Mine have them.

Edit: The first line from My European Summer Vacation (With+):
As I was editing <a href=https://www.literotica.com/s/my-european-summer-vacation target=”_blank”>My European Summer Vacation</a>, I decided that it was too long.

The muse is insisting that the story takes a left at Albaturkey, and go look down there. Not sure why. I thought we had a plan, but I guess I’d better go look see. Hopefully after a tour of the back blocks, I’ll get back to where I want.

Good thing there’s a bit of time left.

Muses are obnoxious that way - good luck on your walkabout!

Hi, all! I’ve heard from Laurel:

[Including a link] is absolutely no problem. In fact, it is always okay to link to any part of the Literotica site in any story.

The best code format to use is this:
<a href="URL" target="_blank">TextHere</a>

If you want the linked text to be bold, use:
<strong><a href="URL" target="_blank">TextHere</a></strong>

The target=blank part will make it so the link opens in a new window, which means that the reader won't lose their place in the story.

Thanks again for asking this question, Chloe. Hope this info is helpful to everyone!

Preemptive apologies to Vix and Ogg, but real life is intervening; I'm just not sure I'll have time to get anything in for this event. November is rough, and I've got a sick kid on my hands now.

I'll keep trying, but it's looking bleaker than the look on the face of a cucked stockbroker wandering in to see his wife being boned by the gardener.

Hey, Voboy! No need to apologize, there’s a spot for you should you find you have the time :D

I too am unlikely to finish my story on time. I got a lot written in a big burst, but haven't had time to write much since. I'll finish it at some point.

I've been away from the AH for a long while as real life has taken a toll on my writing and reading time, and I just saw this thread. I love this idea and I very much want to participate, but time is not on my side. If I can manage anything it will probably be based on Ogg's 50 word stories, but I suspect those are trickier than they appear. I'm probably also not the first one to try (I haven't read this whole thread).

If I can come up with an idea in time, I'm in. For now I'm off to read some of Ogg's micro fiction for inspiration.

Vix, is it ok if I join UsuallyPresent and write a 15x50 story?

U.P. is it ok with you? You got there first and I don't want to step on any toes.

I have an idea the I think will work. If I can manage one fifty-word story a day, I should make the deadline with time to spare.

I did mine but I'm not sure if I should submit.

I did mine as an American version of Ancient Liberties so it was always going to be a not completely serious endeavor. But I think I might have gone too far.

America is a nation of immigrants so a nobleman, someone who tries to use his heritage for good, is going to have a much darker corollary here in America. And that was basically what the story became about.

There's an obvious reason as to why this event should be approached with sensitivity. I wouldn't want to submit if it was going to cause harm. This one's not about me really.

There's still a viewpoint that says I'm paying tribute to Ogg by engaging with his work. There's also an opposing viewpoint that says I'm being distracting and insensitive by submitting. I don't want to be the one who makes that distinction. If there's anyway to tell what I should do I would be very grateful.

"distracting and insensitive?" That sounds as if it could be a good story.

Do not worry about offending me. You are unlikely to, and I have a very thick skin after more than a decade of trolls attacking my stories (and participation on the General Board).

How far a story is a tribute and how far it is a parody, or a criticism of my work would not bother me at all. It is pleasant to think that I might have inspired someone else's stories, no matter how far they go from the original by me.

Awesome. Just seemed like I should make sure.
