The NRA: A lobby for arms dealers, terrorists and violent criminals

The NRA is one of the best friends an arms dealer could ever have. By killing any and all common sense gun control laws, they make it easy for terrorists, stalkers, violent spouses, rapists, hit men, street thugs and other violent criminals to accumulate an arsenal of deadly weapons.

And since the arms dealers no longer have to concern themselves with moral restrictions, they can sell their weapons to EVERYONE! Profits galore!!

Sure, it means that lots of innocent Americans will die when violent malefactors (that should NEVER have been able to buy a firearm) shoot up our churches, our schools, our nightclubs and our places of business, but the arms dealers and making money HAND OVER FIST!

Also, the NRA uses scare tactics to cause arms sales to spike. Like when Wayne LaPierre claimed that Obama would confiscate everybody's guns if he won reelection. Armies of gullible people responded to LaPierre's fear-mongering by buying up as many firearms as they could afford before Obama shut down all the gun shops.

Stupid clueless. you are. Grow up and stop looking at the world through the lens on your Liberal minion decoder ring.

It's time you start using rational, sane thinking. Your logic Issa sick and twisted as the NRA's. The federal government already placed a ban on two weapons in 1989. Under this law it was illegal to buy or sell a Thompson submachine gun or an Uzi if they were manufactured after 1989. If these guns were manufactured before 1989 then the owner had to register them plus be photographed and fingerprinted. Ownership could be transferred but the new owner was subject tothe same rules.

The NRA NEVER began nor intended to become a platform of sorts for any of those things in the OP. The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is an American nonprofit organization that advocates for gun rights. Founded in 1871, the group has informed its members about firearm-related legislation since 1934, and it has directly lobbied for and against legislation since 1975.

As much as I despise the NRA for the power they wield over our representatives you are wrong.

They aren't terrorists or arms dealers or criminals. They're a lobby of gun manufacturers that advocate lax gun laws and regulations to promote more sales of firearms to raise their profits.

Its simple greed not patriotism. They use the second amendment as a mask over their true motive.

Jumping the shark much? I didn’t become a life member of NRA until it became obvious the Feinstein/Bloomberg zealots of the far left really ARE out to not only regulate guns into non-existence, but foam at the mouth over prospects of gun confiscation. We only need to hear the left wing threats once to know circling the wagons in common defense is simply common sense.

I don't want your guns I'd be vehemently against any "confiscation" I just want common sense legislation and regulations.

You guys see a shadow and automatically jump to the conclusion we want to rip your guns from your hands. Stop overreacting. It only makes you look paranoid.

It's not 'paranoia' when they actively promote gun confiscation. Those who 'only want common sense regulation' are just steps in the successive approximations of the gun confiscators...

http://gunssavelives.net/blog/gun-laws/no-one-wants-to-ban-or-confiscate-guns-huh-these-quotes-from-anti-gun-leaders-say-otherwise/

Who are the gun confiscation zealots?
Diane Feinstein
Michael Bloomberg
Jan Shakowsky
Andrew Cuomo
Eric Holder
Barack Obama
Hillary Clinton
etc etc

This, from the traitor who has called for a nation now in a state of declared war against the US to launch a nuclear attack on the US, we get this shit. Your kitchen knives and cap guns should be confiscated, traitor.

NRA Was 'Foreign Asset' To Russia, laundered money for the Russians and helped the Russians influence the 2016 election

During the National Rifle Association’s May 2016 convention, where Donald Trump won the organisation’s coveted endorsement, board member David Keene hosted a private dinner that drew three Russian lifetime NRA members: a since-convicted Kremlin influence agent, her handler and mentor, and a previously unreported Russian who chairs a defense industry foundation, the Guardian has learned.

For the powerful 5 million-member NRA, the Russia ties of Keene and other NRA bigwigs are political and legal headaches that won’t go away – not with the FBI and congressional panels pursuing lengthy probes into the Kremlin’s alleged scheme to influence the pro-gun giant’s top brass, other conservative groups and US politicians.

In fact, as American politics has become consumed with the impact of Russia’s attempt to disrupt the 2016 presidential election in favor of Donald Trump, the NRA and some top board members have also become ensnared in Russia-related investigations, delivering an unexpected blow as the NRA’s links to Russia come under increasingly close examination.

Wayne LaPierre used the NRA as a 'personal piggy bank,' New York attorney general says
Trips to the Bahamas, private jets and luxury hotel suites were some of the ways the CEO and other executives are alleged to have used the nonprofit's money.

For nearly three decades, Wayne LaPierre has been the face of the National Rifle Association, burnishing the organization's influence and power in Washington, taking a defiant stance against gun control advocates in the wake of mass shootings and once famously declaring, "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun."

On Thursday, LaPierre's position as CEO and executive vice president of the most dominant gun lobby in the United States became more precarious after New York Attorney General Letitia James sued him and three other high-ranking current or former NRA executives, alleging that they have undercut the nonprofit organization's charitable mission by engaging in illegal financial conduct.

That includes diverting tens of millions of dollars for personal trips and expenditures, lucrative no-show contracts to buy people's silence and other improper spending, according to the lawsuit.

"The NRA was serving as a personal piggy bank for four individual defendants," Attorney General James said at a news conference.

Oh look...leftist still hate civil rights!! Especially ones that allow folks to defend their property from raging mobs of Maoist.

Shocking.

Isn’t that a Rondos song? If not, should be.

What's a Rondos?

I think it should be a Cannibal Corpse song.

I mean...after all, comrade Mao is the greatest mass murder of all time in sheer numbers.

Only eclipsed by a few if you measure proportional to the global population.... Alexander, Genghis, Atilla.

Deff a CC track.

NRA facing ‘embarrassing’ court hearing in Texas as it attempts to declare bankruptcy

"Now, the NRA's top executives are soon likely to take the stand in a Dallas courtroom, a potentially bruising public display, in a federal hearing scheduled to open April 5 to determine whether the organization will be allowed to declare bankruptcy, as it requested earlier this year," the newspaper reported. "The bankruptcy proceedings are likely to reveal embarrassing new details about the organization's internal workings and extravagant spending. Already, filings associated with the process have documented that the group was informed by the IRS that it owes $3.4 million in taxes dating to 2014 and that it paid for mosquito control at LaPierre's home, citing the expense as intended for 'security purposes.'"

John Feinblatt, the president of Everytown for Gun Safety, a leading advocate of gun regulation, mocked the declining political power of the NRA.

"Lawmakers who used to run away from the issue of gun safety now run on it, and a big reason for that is the sharp decline of the NRA," Feinblatt said. "In just a few short years, the NRA has fallen from perhaps the most powerful political group in America to a bankrupt shadow of their former selves — all while endangering millions of lives."

Days before the Boulder massacre, the NRA bragged about overturning a Boulder ban on assault weapons.

Enlighten us :)

GOA is probably the most popular.

Instead of basking in the fall of what you perceive to be a hard pro 2nd org, you may do well to ask yourself why the NRA is collapsing when guns are more popular than ever.

Bad business isn't the only story... their decades of compromise have worn thin on people. The NRA has the name brand, but those deep in the gun culture recognize them for what they are.

So when I google GOA, nothing comes up in relation to a Lobby type organisation.

Nothing even related to firearms appears...yep GOA the NRA replacement.

Good luck...:rose:

Only 0.0014% of American gun owners belong to that organization. I doubt they will be making news anytime soon.

The NRA was founded in 1870 to promote gun safety. And they sat side-by-side with J. Edgar Hoover in 1934 Congressional committees to keep machine guns from being sold to the public.

Then along comes Wayne LaPierre who makes his living running the NRA promoting the sale of killer firearms and their ammunition.

LaPierre doesn't give a shit about gun safety or responsible gun ownership. He cares about e arms dealers making outrageous profits and giving kickbacks to the NRA, so he and his friends can roll around in piles of cash.

NRA chief Wayne LaPierre faces tough questions in court — "Russia" expense remains a mystery

Gruber's questioning revealed that the Brewer law firm billed the NRA in an invoice charging $59,155.25 for the line item "Russia" in 2020. Before the charges could be fully explained, an objection on the ground of confidentiality struck the matter from the court record. Russian agent Maria Butina's attempts to infiltrate the NRA led to a string of embarrassing headlines for the gun group, during her prosecution and eventual deportation from the United States in 2019.

The Butina scandal would later lead to a September 2019 U.S. Senate that the gun rights organization had acted as a "foreign asset" on behalf of the Russian government during the 2016 election campaign.
