It rained all day here too. I did housework. And napped. No gym.

Now wine, food and a movie.

It's been hot. Very hot. And its going to stay hot for several more days. I can dig in the garden in the morning but from about 10:30 on, it's back in the AC. Now that it's 'cooling' down, maybe I can get some planting done--maybe.

Irises. I love irises as much as orchids. My whole parkway is irises but they bloomed poorly this year because I hadn't lifted them in almost . . . maybe nine years? The poor things were horribly overcrowded so I'm lifting and replanting the big ones. I have so many I'm trying to give then away. If you lived closer and weren't over one of those pesky international borders, I'd bring you some.

I love irises too! I have Siberian ones, blue flags and a yellow iris...I'd love more varieties but we have a small garden.

I won't complain about the breadth of the country...I like both oceans. Besides, it keeps the B.C. side of the family comfortably far away.

I grew all sorts of bulb flowers when I lived in Atlanta. Daffodils, tulips, lilies, iris. They are so pretty. They don't do that well here...except at Disney World.

A good day digging at Croome Park - the last of the four I'd signed up for.

Tomorrow is a Bank Holiday here in the UK, so I'm off work and hoping to spend time with family after abandoning them in favour of a trowel! I'm told Pershore has a Plum Festival, so might go and see that tomorrow.
