I guess this is as good a quote as any to show how out of touch and uncaring and into "let them eat cake" you are. Apparently you aren't aware that your own forum rule #3 says hotlinking of copyrighted material isn't acceptable. The method used to copy and repost copyrighted material doesn't mean a thing in the decision to violate copyright by reposting material that doesn't belong to you. Suggesting you know little about copyright violation isn't slander (it would be libel, not slander, anyway, since it's written, not spoken)--not if it can be reasonably argued to be true.

Your postings to this thread and your empty brinkmanship disrespect to users who are providing the product of your Web site for free and who are spending considerable time explaining to other users procedures claimed but not delivered on this site has been demonstrated quite well by you here, I think.

Literotica is very much like a moldering, but long-loved tenement on Central Park in New York City. It's such a good location and has such a rich history that renters keep showing up--in the face of uncaring, inattentive, absentee owners just letting it deteriorate by not bothering to keep it up--and coming up with empty excuses and belligerent blustering when deterioration is pointed out. But location keeps the apartments filled--until the day the building collapses. And until then, the tenants do what they can to help each other find staircases in the building that haven't collapsed yet and that still lead somewhere toward where they are trying to go.

Fact is, while you are just being knee-jerk nasty and unresponsive in your posts here, I'm busy off trying to help users deal with your messed-up Web site. So, between the two of us, I think I'm the one being constructive on the Web site--at least toward the users of the Web site.

This is where I should put out there that in addition to most likely stealing that stock photo that you have to make sure when you purchase one that it is allowable to be used in erotica. Some photographers have on the photo info that they will not allow it or you have to ask permission.

Laurel, I hope you are still following this thread and read my contribution. You have responded even after claiming you would say no more so I have hope. I have a different point to make, one that might hit closer to home.

My husband joined Lit first to post a couple of stories. Then I posted a couple under his membership. We used volunteer editors, comments, and feedback to develop our writing. We stayed on the story side for almost a year.

This attitude is hurting your membership:

Our first visits to forums were scary (just as readers) and almost drove us away from the site. So much meanness and crude behavior being allowed made us think Literotica was just as skanky as the bad sites we left behind. Hubby's first post here was an inquiry but placed in the Shark Pool (GB). We came away bloodied and didn't even visit for 3 months.

Indeed. I don't waste my time talking to people whose sole purpose is to insult and spread lies about the site, which is why I refuse to engage him in any way. He's not worth my time.

Saving the integrity of Lit and retaining its members isn't worth your time? Do you realize you are losing both?

A story feedback brought us back and we found the AH forum to be a decent place. We heard about contests and tried to find information about them. Unfortunately, Scouries' fake contest was the most prominent and drowned out the real ones Lit sponsors. We wasted a lot of time trying to find how to enter his contest, even looking around the Web for something called A.I.R.

We nearly left again in frustration. Only hubby's diligent research discovered his contest was a farce and how to enter the real contests.

I seriously doubt that's true. People come to and leave Lit every single day for a variety of reasons. He wants to believe he is Public Enemy No. 1, able to drive people from the site at will. You give him way too much power and credit.

Many come here, read a troll's posts, and put said troll on ignore - never thinking about him again until people like you bring him up.

You give him power over your time. You allow him to make your experience about him. Every time you mention him, you make other people who have him on ignore think about him. He couldn't pay for a better promoter.

He IS driving people away before they can get a grip on what is happening. Your doubts are costing you.

Ignore is a useful tool (he's the only one on my list) but it takes awhile to learn about that tool and you're losing members before they discover it.

You are wrong. He is his own best promoter and his disruption is costing you. I hope you listen to this old lady. He doesn't affect me anymore so I have no hidden desire to oust him. I just want to be a voice that assists you with taking control of a good thing (Lit) and clean it up.

Whilst I appreciate that you are [a] an accomplished and published writer and been on this board a lot longer than I, may I offer a few thoughts on this thread, which, to my mind, is occasionally a catalogue of chaos; made worse by comment such as yours (yes, there are a lot of others and I probably should list them but I cannot be bothered to read the whole thing again).

To my mind,
[1]. Lit belongs to Laurel & Manu. It's their train set to do with as they wish.
Personally, I rather enjoy it, but I'm not keen on the complete chaos which I see as the GB.
I've managed to learn something of writing as a craft, and managed to have a few bits published, for which I am chuffed and happy.
[2]. Lets face it, if we on the AH cannot 'moderate' ourselves, someone else might have to do it and that will not please too many folk, I'm thinking, especially the Authoritarian types.
[3]. If we don't like the way some things are done, I'm sure there are other sites to clutter up.
