I can think of three good reasons to have an alt ... unfortunately more bad ways they can be used. Technically, I have a Facebook alt. Aside from my RL account, I have a Sandra Mustard page for my writing. I don't think stopping alts is the answer; stop individuals when it gets to be abuse.

An alt as in a different pen name is not really the type of alt that is an issue

That is a a different name to save your public persona from being known to be the person who writes whatever they write.

The term alt on boards like this is in the derogatory form because here they are used to attack other people and leave their "real name" out of it or to make it look as if they have people agreeing with them and to gang up on others.

Its considered good fun in the GB which is where "the queen" has all her friends. So no surprise scouries is encouraged here.

I find it interesting that the boards make this site no money whatsoever. The stories make the money. The authors write the stories. Yet the AH for the most part is ignored while ownership frolics with the cyber bullies.

Guess I just have the wrong concept of running a business.

The AH is NOT representative of the majority of Literotica Authors.

The Authors' Hangout represents a very small percentage of the Literotica Authors, and most authors post their stories on Literotica because their work gets more exposure here than on almost every other site.

But the ones here are the ones that report all the issues for those authors who can't contact the site because.....that feature does not work

Look, I love lit. Its done many things for me including making some pretty good friends.

What I don't like is hypocrisy and BS. And there is a lot of that around here and like in every other company shit starts at the top.

I am amazed that more people here don;t now who scouries really is. Because if this thread didn't prove it I don;t know what can.

Then again maybe others do know and like me won't post it because somehow we would be the ones banned.

Unfortunately, no I haven't noticed that. He's posting to his threads and has branched out atypically to post to side threads as well. Overall, I don't think the "poke the gerbil" tactic works well at all. The only benefit to this time (and it's a big benefit) is that the Web site for the first time in seven years actually stated that he's lying about his claims of tolerance for his nonsense--especially in lying about a relationship with the Web site. Of course that was watered down by Laurel showing more tolerance for him than for those pointing to the sinking functionality of this site, with the burden of helping users navigate the flotsam being shouldered by other users.

LC and Pilot, can you report his posts (with the report button on the bottom left of every post) with the image copyright objection? Won't Lit be forced to act, at least for individual posts? I assume (because I won't look to verify) he hasn't taken the images off because he believes no one will make him.

I have reported his reposting of my copyrighted image, a clear copyright violation, to the Web site, and they've done nothing (it was just yesterday, though, so the jury is still out on that). I didn't do it with any expectation they would--I was being serious when I posted that what they seem to know about copyright violation and their own liability for it could be written in Magic Marker on the back of a Scouries royalty check. I've reported copyright violations in the past, with about a 3 percent success.

Even on this thread Laurel posted she hotlinks images herself, which is a violation of rule #3 of her own forum rules. The violation is in the decision and carry through of reposting, not the method of posting you used.

Where this gets surrealistic is where posters who violate the copyright of others in posting to this site are among those screaming bloody murder when their stories are stolen from here and reposted elsewhere without their permission. Sort of a "duh" there. And it gets even more weird when they believe a Web site that violates copyright left and right itself is going to go into battle for them on their stolen stories. Beyond the copyright issue, the current massive theft of Lit. stories by E.F. Turner shows how far into battle the Web site is going to go with its authors--almost out to the exit from the food tent.

Laurel has consistently been more tolerant of your antics, lies about a relationship with her and dead baby mocking and all, than she has of anyone pointing to the increased shabbiness of this site and to how much water the regular forum users have to carry to help new users navigate through the floating nonfunctioning "stuff" here.

I cannot fathom how many of this idiots posts have been reported over the years with nothing happening at all.

The only thing I have seen in my time here is one of his alts being blow up "Gabby" when he kept posting a BFW story all over the forums

and let's face it that was only blown up because it was a BFW story.

Odd that BFW has paid a price here for dead baby mocking (not the one he should have, but something) and yet scouries? Gets defended.

As to your copyrighted image? I think it would be an interesting case. The image now represents you on LITEROTICA – its your official avatar as well as a book cover. It's your site ID. And its now on various threads on the forums here over some 33,000 times. Including more than a thousand times on various SW threads.

I wonder what damage to you could be proven by someone having the image posted on a page where you’d already posted it 5 times.

The QUEEN of course might fold – her decisions are never straightforward. In fact I’ve always felt that she derives some humor from irritating various people (SW included). The line of hers I quoted above is a perfect example of this - its a shot at both you and jim.

I seldom mention the loser at all because I can't see his threads or posts and usually avoid any topic that draws him in. But this thread has been epic with admin actually saying he's more full of shit than a port-a-potty at a rock concert.
