Sam, I LOVE that album! I memorized many a Social D lyric between the ages of 14 and 20, great therapy. Cold Feelings and Ghost Town Blues are 2 other great songs off of it. In fact, "Prison Bound" is their one album I don't own. Saw them live at the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma CA several years back. GREAT SHOW!

Hank Williams III has a great song called "5 shots of whiskey" on the Lovesick, Broke & Driftin' album. I don't have the lyrics off the top of my head, but they're good. He plays in Petaluma CA a lot, too, so does the Reverend Horton Heat. I try to catch their shows every time they're in my neck of the woods.

I saw them for the first time in 86 for the Prison Bound tour I think it was. 5 bands for 5 bucks. CoC, Suicidal Tendencies and Social D. Prison bound is an awsome cd, I highly recommend it. I saw Social D a few more times over the years with the last one being the White Heat, White Light, White Trash tour in 96 at Omaha. Great show. Man does Mike Ness do it for me.

Hi Cipher...your weekend sounds like mine...dead! Although having a few beers sounds fun

I have not a lot on this weekend, taking delivery of my new bike in about an hour..may go golfing tomorrow..or a ride on the bike..undecided.

Okay, this idea might just sink to page 11 by the end of today, and if it does well, that's the breaks.

This thread is for anyone and everyone who feels they want to post to "The Playground" but haven't found a spot that "fits" them. You know - your "state" thread not entirely welcoming? Don't like crashing parties where there are, like, 20,000 posts and you know not a soul? If you are like me, you've tried to post here with little to no sucess.

But, hey, that's cool! 'Cause now you can post here! This thread is not "tied" to any specific "lifestyle", "location", or "interest". It just....is. Plain and simple. A thread to talk and get to know all the other "misfits" here at Lit.

So, welcome and enjoy! And by the way - if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this place up, please let me know. I can be challenged when it comes to decorating!

Hopefully this thread will not sinking by page 11 or so..
I am instantly attracted to anything that speaks to the Misfits....you struck a lovely idea...

i am wondering if misfits are that because of who they are
or what other people see
or what other people think they see
or some other damnable reason which may be a combination of several factors and different at differnt times to different people...okay I am spending too much time thinkng on this subject


I have never fit in with my family
I was the one who brought opera records home as a teenager and camped out beheath the dining room table with the head phones over my ears
I am the one who paints
I am the one who no one liked
I am the ugly Duckling
it is as if I was placed in the wrong womb
all of my family keeps neat and tidy house
my house is full of what interests my children and myself
my sewing table over flows
as does the computer table
I havea huge bookcase in my bedroom eight feet by 12 feet..three deep are the books....there is a bookcase in eachof my childrens's rooms..overflowing....there is a huge bookcase in the dining room overflowing also with stcks of books
I don't fit there with my sisters and mother
never have
I am not a good fit for them.....

but I have found many people who I do fit with and thus have made my own family.....
the general board is a harsh place for new people
here at the Playground I have found easy and comfortable places to visit and share ideas....
well I am done ranting

When i was in high school, instead of going out to party and getting smashed off of extra beers my parents left behind, i was studying and playing my cello, i was always different..but normal to myself, i was the kid in high school with pink hair, i wore different clothes, i was into music, i played in the chamber orchestra, i did things that other's thought were "weird" but i was doing what i was happy, and what seemed normal to me.
If you're happy with you, and you love your life, and how you live it, anyone that doesn't like you or respect you for you can kiss your ass!!! and that's how i feel. It angers me that people feel you have to live your life according to how they see fit. They spend so much time living your life, they're not even living thier own.

These are some words, i find so true..and well spoken.
