The weather has been really hot here the last couple of days but we have had a few rain showers to kool things down a little.

Gossip...
Evil, but impossible to avoid. Makes one feel like a misfit really quickly. All you can do is hope the gossipers find something else of more interest to them, or become more concerned with their own lives. Oh well. Keep your head up and don't let it get the best of ya, dear.

Hello all,
I have been a "member" for almost a day now so I suppose that makes me a newbi and I've always felt like a misfit so your thread {?} hooked me. I admit I posted to the Ohio one first, sorry but I didn't see this one, and they are a decidedly chilly bunch.
I have no idea where to start, can't even remember what I put on the profile but I'm 27, female, divorced without children {unless we are including the furry/feathered ones who've adopted me over the years}, and I stumbled into this site a while back while looking up stories. I've ventured back often to read but until yesterday I never thought of becoming a member.
On the shy side until I get to know people, then I'll talk your ear off if you let me. I enjoy reading, learning, exploring and just trying to expand my world as much as possible. Love to laugh but can't tell a joke to save my life so if anyone is interested in talking/chatting I'm usually around and I'd enjoy the company.

Not too much...Just lurking around the boards and throwing in my 2 pennies on occasion. I get an AV soon, as I'm nearing 100 posts, so I'll have to find a fun one.
My most recent ex, and failed long-distance relationship will be back for 2 weeks in September. I'd really like to see her, even if just to say "Hi" one afternoon, but I'm afraid to. Afraid it'd hurt me too much seeing her again...Remind me how much I miss her in my life. I don't want to undo the healing process after coming this far. Still have a long way to go, though.
I'm moving out of the place I'm in now, with a friend of mine, next month, so I'm excited about that. less than a mile from the junkyard. Car is almost back together again, after 6 long months of chasing gremlins out of it. Can't wait to drive her again.
Saw some cool bands this weekend at an outdoor rockabilly show. had some good food while I was there and washed it down with a couple pints of good beer.
Spent some quality time with a "Friend with Benefits", cuddling and talking, among other things
Life is generally good, even the simplest things can make me happy most of the time, like a passing stranger's kind words (Thank You!). Even when something is getting to me, I bounce back well. These are hard feathers to ruffle.

I'm quite glad to hear you had an awesome weekend, i spent my saturday with a "friend" and on sunday i went to the latin world festival with my family and i danced and ate, so i had a great weekend, and it sounds like you did too!!! Excellent!!!

Sorry to hear it! A bit of a trade off...I know if I'd been hurt intentionally, getting over the loss of someone would be easier, but trusting the next people would certainly be harder. Neither situation seems an ideal place to be.
