It is not the late breaking news that the current occupant of the Oval Office is the most self-adulatory president — perhaps, person — in our history. But, since the whole country was aware that his “evolution” on gay marriage was a con-job, I can’t help but see the bracing part of his statement today as the assertion that the United States armed forces fight not for the United States but for him (Him?):


[O]ver the course of several years, as I talk to friends and family and neighbors; when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed, monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together; when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailers who are out there fighting on my behalf, and yet feel constrained, even though “don’t ask, don’t tell” was gone, because they’re not able to commit themselves in a marriage; at a certain point I’ve just concluded that, for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married.

Obama: American Troops Fight on My Behalf


Some have wondered what our troops in Afghanistan have been dying for, considering that our “Commander in Chief” is uncomfortable with the concept of victory and obviously has no intention of pursuing it, even as American casualties have doubled under his command. Now at last we have the answer, from the Moonbat Messiah himself, issued off-handedly while he was pandering to homosexuals:




There you have it; they are fighting and dying on the behalf of Barack Hussein Obama, who has deemed it not to be in his political best interests to let them fight without their hands tied by absurd rules of engagement or to pull them out of harm’s way.

The success of yesterday’s mission is a tribute to our men and women now serving in Iraq. The operation was based on the superb work of intelligence analysts who found the dictator’s footprints in a vast country. The operation was carried out with skill and precision by a brave fighting force. Our servicemen and women and our coalition allies have faced many dangers in the hunt for members of the fallen regime, and in their effort to bring hope and freedom to the Iraqi people. And so shortly after taking office, I directed Leon Panetta, the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority of our war against al Qaeda, even as we continued our broader efforts to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat his network.

Then, last August, after years of painstaking work by our intelligence community, I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden. It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground. I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan. And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorized an operation to get Osama bin Laden and bring him to justice.

Today, at my direction, the United States launched a targeted operation against that compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

Imagine going into combat on orders from a community organizer who thinks you’re doing it on his personal behalf.
