The Metrodance Guidelines for New and Established Posters.

Not technically.

If you added the posts of my previous identity and now, they would be over 1,000.

As for the av, I have to give that a great deal of thought.

put that the way you want, you are nevertheless a newbie.

now dont forget guideline number 7
Don’t play too much importance to AV’s. It’s like a pair of shoes – some people have exquisite taste, others appalling but it’s not really a solid indicator to their intelligence or morality. Remember, people select avatars based on who they think they are or wish they were.

Quoting me at me? Very nice.
I am in deep consideration regarding appropriate avatar.

Now I know how you guys feel when you read my posts---I am terribly sorry.
And now my head hurts worse.

Look, no one really cares what you say, they only care about what THEY say, and do anything they like. You'll never change anything here, this is a big waste of time.

I take great offense at the notion that no one cares squat about newbies. Speak for yourself, not everyone feels that way. I think we need tons more of them, and less of people like YOU.

It's entirely possible this thread was set not so much out of indignation as a snare for the indignation of others.

Metrodance has, at the least, said it (the indignation of those with high post counts) amuses them.

It's one of the small things in life that make it all worth while.

Temper, temper.

Can I take you back to Guideline 2. Newbies.?

There are those who see the term (newbies) as an honourable one and astute established posters will always welcome new blood.

It pays to read before posting silly little replies. I suppose that ought to be a guideline but that would take the fun out of watching people make unintentional idiots of themselves.

And to pre-empt the obvious remarks – I enjoy intentionally being an idiot occasionally.

There are entirely too many guidelines around here.

I say we don't follow a single one!

Oh wait....

Guideline 22:On-line/Off-line button.
Many seasoned lit personalities choose the option to always appear Off-line. This has two benefits. Firstly, by not advising that they’re On-line, they won’t be bothered with PM’s from rabid fans. Secondly, it also allows them to post under an Alt without it being obvious that they are going off-line when their alt comes on-line.

Who would want to change it? The guidelines are for how the place is!

Shoot! If I would have read your 'guidelines', I would have known that!

Guideline 23: Denial.
Based on If it doesn’t happen to me, it doesn’t happen to anyone on the board attitude. It just can’t happen, right?

Ah, the Killswitch Clause.

Guideline 24: Lit Persona 1.
Many posters can be allocated to obvious categories based on their posting style and assumed board persona eg Moody Male – cynical, world weary but occasionally sensitive, this male displays a caustic insult style that is based on borrowed movie lines and stand-up comedy routines from the 1960’s.

I think I know what mine is. Although it's been a while since I've been called it - outloud.

This thread is fun. We should make it a sticky.

Lover?

I'm pleased there are some people with a healthy sense of fun and humor.

Here's another one and yes, I have over fifty! Isn't that something to look forward to?

Guideline 25:Spelling Buddy.
A helpful alt that sometimes became confused between American and British usage. We forgave that small blunder in deference to the wit and speed of delivery.

Not that it means anything or that anyone would care, but this is the first GB thread that I've subscribed to and I look forward to reading each day.

Keep up the entertaining thread Metrodance. I appreciate the laughter you and the other posters bring to me.

Thanks Denae, nice thought and an example that a few nice words go a long way.

Thanks again.
