The Living Works of Art Challenge

As always, my compliments to my fellow marble statues (ever increasing in number!) for their fantastic responses to JRP's challenge this week. If you'd told me a few weeks ago that part of my weekly ritual would be to shed all my clothes and drape linen over parts of my torso I suspect I would simply have laughed! Anyway, here is my attempt at Apollo Belvedere:

I'm sure a month ago being told you would be recreating famous artwork would have garnered the same response but we are so glad you have stepped up to the challenge. Your rendition is superb. And I do hope that flogger isn't just for props. *wink wink*. Thank you Hornblende.

Feeling a bit lightheaded from eye bounce. Feet to flogger hand and back in an exhilarating loop. Wonderful rendition!

Great entry as usual, HB. Great use of shadows and props for the . . . well, prop! I'm sure the ladies will be praising you for . . . other things.

It is a good thing that we can touch the exhibits in this museum because I have no intention of keeping my hands to myself.

Trading in the bow for a flogger eh?
Well we all like your weekly ritual Sir HB and it's a *ahem* great pleasure to see yiu commit every week.

Thank you, Sassy & Sweet person! It definitely isn't just a prop - I retrieved it from a cupboard which also contains a riding crop and a cane.

Feeling light-headed at the thought of any part of you bouncing, Mara. ;) Thank you! :rose:

Thanks JRP!

Now now, Lovely, you might alter the lines of the statue ;). :rose:

Always delighted to bring you pleasure, dear Lizzie... :rose::kiss:

Nice stab! Oops I mean lovely David rendition.
Lovely surprise seeing you in the gallery.

Another contribution to the museum. Fabulous. Great rendition Jordan.

David with more hair on the marble looks very nice. Let's see your other artwork.

Your David is fabulous and if this is middle age... it looks damn good on you.

You do realise this means you must do all the rest don't you? :D

Thank you all for the kind comments and encouragement [you too JRP]. I work slow so I suspect I will have trouble catching up. At this rate, you will probably be on to abstract sculpture before I get to The Thinker.

A new exhibit arrived while I was sleeping. Yay!
Great rendition!

Is this an interactive art display? Where the flogger is easily removed for the patrons to use on the statue.

Thanks Icy, but I think the statue was rather intending to use it on the photographer :D. :rose:

Sexy as ever, JP. I'm so glad you've graced the museum with your statue!

I think it's wonderful how JR's thread has become so popular with so many fabulous men of Lit! I'm so glad y'all chose to participate and try his challenge each week.

Now, I will admit my eyes were drawn to your, ahem, torso. .. I'm glad Mara mentioned the feet and flogger, so I could look at this piece of art with new eyes and appreciation.

So, first the torso and then more so? ;):rose:

I love how this gallery fills up as the week goes on. Very nice to sit here and see another handsome statue take a spot and pose naked.

Well, this didn't turn out like I planned. But here they are anyway. Three, because I could pick the best. I like none.

Returned to private collection.

I'm so glad I saw these before they were returned to the private collection. I loved the shadows, and the use of the candle. The first one was my favourite, but as others have said, there was something I liked in each of them. I hope you'll continue and do the next challenge, whatever it is

Oh yes. I like this. Middle age has much to recommend it, in my experience

Let's here it for rituals! Your Apollo is outstanding!!

Here is my Discobolus. (Now I need to see the chiropractor)

Ooh! Nipple - check. Hairy chest - check. Glinty ring - check. Abs - check.

Very nice. Very nice indeed  What is your disco, though? It looks like part of the casing of a dalek

(Chiropractor? Wait til you get to The Thinker... Right elbow on left knee? Ouch...)

Very nice Jordan. Your lines are perfect. I'm sure one of our resident patrons would be more than happy to help you save money on a chiropractor visit. Thanks for your contribution.
