The ACTUAL fuck up by Israel’s defense command was the dismissal of warnings from a FEMALE IDF observer who believed Hamas’ usual practice drills looked more coordinated and purposeful. - like Hamas was planning to ACTUALLY do something major instead of just feigning an attack like they often did.

IMO (and others’), Hamas (likely at the behest of Russia, Iran, etc) launched the attack as Israel was dealing with The West Bank and had dedicated their attention & resources to that pressing matter.

Israel had a false sense of security about Hanas / Gaza - especially with their automated "Iron Wall" in place - and underestimated the threat (while the misogyny of the IDF commander’s caused them to dismiss the warnings of a female IDF observer).
