The leaves fall, the neighbors reflect

We have leaf rake out here, which essentially means that you rake your leaves into the street in front of your house and once every week or two, a special truck comes and scoops them all up. Between rake out and pick up, though, the streets are full of leaf piles, making driving interesting and street parking (a necessity) impossible. Fun stuff. :)

Oh, by the way, I think I may have seen God this morning, unless it was just sunbeams. Probably sunbeams. Well in any case, this has been a rather special Autumn for tree-huggers like me.
I officially hate you now. My autumn has been nothing but sludge grey skies and pouring rain. Unless it's been snowing. Horizontally.

I am so bad, and I know it, feel guilty about it, and do it anyway: In the part of my front yard where there is mulch, hastas and some little shrubberies, I wait until a reall windy day to pretend to "rake up" the leaves there. I'm not raking up, I'm agitating, and getting them to blow away. Here's why I'm bad: they all accumulate in one corner of the old lady down the steet's yard. :(. Last year I helped her rake and fill a couple bags. It was my compensation and penance. :D

I spent some of the weekend raking and bagging leaves. It is my second favorite thing. My favorite thing is throwing a bowling ball as high as I can in the air and catching with my teeth.

I gave up on raking.... I use the lawnmower to mulce them up and make fertilizer out of them....

Anyway the small pieces blowing around are harder to identify as to where they came from....... :D
