given all the back and forthing you've been having to do, plus quebec being as it is, i get it

A million reasons. One, it’s difficult for me to work here. I am way behind in career growth. So that’s been put on the back burner.

Tax dollars being wasted on language issues that were not an issue! Language police etc.
Meanwhile our infrastructure and healthcare systems are falling apart. I don’t even have a doctor but my taxes are paying for one. This weekend I have to go feed my FIL who is in the hospital. There are no nurses available.

The inflation. After our visit to the States a few weeks ago, we are paying double to triple on most goods.

Condos are taking over. We live in the country and now high rise condos are being built everywhere. They are supposed to triple in growth.
It’s the only affordable housing at this time. A condo for $500k.

Eventually we want to cash out of this house and go stateside.

That’s mental … yeah my job is thankfully in the higher level of jobs here.. so I’m not doing too bad. I mean, I still can’t afford a house. But I also don’t want to spend $1.8B for an 1800 sq ft duplex

Quebec is a very nice place to live. People are polite, it’s extremely clean and for a big city like Montreal, very little crime.

The politics just ruin it. This government is very racist.

I loved Montreal when I lived there… I still prefer my mountains and ocean, even if they cost an arm and a leg.

Some people are unfortunately dicks about French vs. English, too. But then again, it is kind of a mutual deal since some of the English speaking folks in other parts are dicks about the French speaking people in Quebec.

I would live in Montreal for the different vibe and culture, and the relatively closeness to Europe.

My house in Ontario is about 2-2.5 million. It’s crazy.
New Brunswick, a majority is too rural and they are also adapting some cities to be French speaking only.

I got away with it because of the accent. No-one expects English people to speak anything other than English.

I've had people who didn't respond, didn't talk to me and generally ignored me. At least in Paris, they tell you they don't speak English.

But I also live in a place where people from the East, and especially Quebec, are just hated for no good reason. So, I have seen both sides of this mutual and absurd blind hatred.
