Lots of ways. Never clean out the bobbin area, use compressed air, don’t run it in years, break needles in it, roll it off the table…

Dropping it did come to mind.

My pfaff haven’t ever died, but one got frozen from lack of ys, it was the child lock. Warmed it up with a hair dryer and it was good to go .

Her Pfaffs get a trip to the mechanic every year or so for some love, cleaning, and oil.

It really wasn't worth fixing. It was cheap and poorly made. I was just hoping it would last long enough so I could get a really good Singer model. Luckily, I currently don't have a need for it.

I don't do it on purpose you silly!!!
A lot of them were cheaply made so that helps for breaking. Mostly. it's just wear and tear. This one that broke, the bobbin holder suddenly popped off and refuse to stay back on. I should have known when it only cost $50. You get what you pay for. Depending on the machine, it's just not worth getting fixed.

I've broken a few because of mistakes. Others because of being cheaply made. You can break anything in the world given the right circumstances.
