So as a sample (a friggin $6 sample mind you) I got Le Labo Santal 33 cause I was reading about how wonderful this smelled and how people follow you around sniffing you.

All I can say is that it smells funky. It comes in a spray as the sample (which is a first for me) but i literally only put a drop on me. You can smell me from across the hall.

I will not be getting this one again.

I tried that - my sister was in New York recently and picked me up a small bottle - but although it's fine, it's nothing special on my skin. It's one of the most magical things about scent, the way it changes on different people.

I've only ever had people comment consistently, and favourably, on two scents - Creed Private Collection Selection Verte, now sadly run out, and my main evening scent, Lalique's Encre Noir. Again, with the latter, I've recommended it to friends who have been completely unimpressed. These things are so intensely personal.

I have high hopes of Trumper's Extract of Limes, though.

I am partial to Eau de BBQ.
