I just watched several cars fail to parallel park in a particular spot. Most of them drove off in shame, but one guy toughed it out and persevered. The curse is broken.

I once watched a young couple take almost 15 minutes to parallel park their Honda Civic. It was painful watching them misjudge the angles, the cutting in, and the two times they managed to get between two cars, only to find they were about 3 feet from the curb.

There was a palpable sense of joy when they finally manoeuvred their coupe into the space, but it was short lived and bittersweet as they discovered, via a street sign, that they had parked in a spot reserved for those car sharing vehicles.

They appeared to deflate as they dawdled back to the car, got in, and drove away.

It's not dark in the clouds as of now, but I know it's gonna slide through and start deluging once I step out. :D And I need to bounce soon. Hate having to umbrella my way through my days off. I know, first-world problems. But still.
