For most of my time here, you'd see Lance for a few weeks at a time: he'd do his usual thing and then disappear for maybe half the year. There were signs of an actual life apart from this site.


This is the sort of thing I was worried about when Wal-Mart started phasing out its geezer greeters.

I'd forgotten just how rapidly the water temperature in a 25-meter pool changes.

During the heat wave last week— to my utter amazement— the pool water got all the way up to 92° (33°C). I honestly did not think that was possible (it's the first year they've been posting the pool water temperature). At one point, the pool water temperature was actually warmer than the air temperature. It wasn't refreshing in the least; the only way a swim cooled you off was from the evaporation when you got out of the water.


A mere one week later, the pool water temperature had dropped a full 8° to 84° (28° C).

I think they switch lofts over weekends, for variety.

The two most eligible Lit. bachelors have bonded nicely!
 


It's always a guessing game whether the thunderstorms are going to arrive before game time.


It's largely a time, rate, distance problem but complicated by the potential for slight shifts in direction or composition.


We've been fooled any number of times by extrapolating the track of the radar images only to discover the damn storm ended up doing a shape shift.

Were I piloting a sailboat, I wouldn't dare dream of playing it that close. I'd be in a protected harbor long before there was any possibility of being caught out there in one of the region's notoriously violent thunder-squalls.


On land, I can take certain liberties.

On the water— not so much.

If you've never tried it, I recommend daubing tea on your sunburn. Just brew a basic cup of black tea - strong. Let it cool completely and either use the teabag or a papertowel and daub it onto the skin. The tannins are the trick apparently. Mom used it all the time on us growing up and even in adulthood I've resorted to it a time or two. It really does help.

I actually envision you as an ex-patriot living large on a sailboat in the Bahamas and points nearby.
 
Feels nice to be debt free and have money to spend.

I'm thinking it's time to book a holiday. Deserve a rest.
