Little scarlet is a good jam. We grow the tiny wild strawberries as ground cover but picking enough for jam would be tortuous. Occasionally I manage enough for a strawberry tart, which tastes great but requires some dedicated picking, and frankly, doesn't look as pretty as one with full sized strawberries, even if the taste is so explosively wonderful.

Good morning!

We are lazily still in bed. The dogs woke up because of foxes at four this morning, then we got up to do birds and pet breakfasts at quater to six, so we are lounging about now drinking coffee when we should be in the garden. G's return to five day weeks away from home is also proving a bit of a jolt to the system and running operations of things.

the sound of foxes is unique, and can be quite disturbing!
way back when, as a child of maybe 5, i recall a summer evening and laying in bed waiting to fall asleep - and then that sound (which i didn't know was a fox back then) that to my ears and imagination was a cross between a crying child with no mouth (if that makes sense) and a chittering noise i associated with bats made me think there was a vampire bat outside that maybe wanted a piece of me and i might be in deadly peril

yeah, animals and kids don't seem to know what a sunday is. our aging mog - 18, but who doesn't believe age is a thing - decided that 5 am was breakfast time and i should be hurrying up about it too quite often one of my 2 at-homes will be awake in the early hours but since they were both asleep she was annoyed no one was ready to serve her ladyship and let me know all about it.
in the summer, she only drops in for food about 3 times a day, spends the rest out somewhere, hanging with foxes and fleabags

3) If you haven't yet watched Fleabag, on BBC3, do so. It's the most General Board comedy I have ever seen. It opens with the best long drawn out anal sex joke ever, has at least two great uses of 'cunt' and is full of drunk people shouting.
