Wingnut Nation here seems very angry tonight. Angrier than usual. I would not have thought that possible....and President Obama has yet to speak!

How long have you been itching to use that? I ask, because it seems over-rehearsed and ill-placed.

Did it go over any better the last several times you used it since lifting off twitter?

This morning I've been debating in my head about who is better: Jason Borne or James Bond.

I'm still undecided but I'm leaning to Jason. It's a bit like comparing Terry Bradshaw to Tom Brady though. Different eras are hard to compare.

I have never seen an entire Bond flick but I'm going to to see Bourne tonight. Guess that's where I stand.
Brady is better but Bradshaw was funner-er.

Bond is kinda campy; but, that was the thing back in the day.

And Bradshaw was from an era when the team drank and smoked right before the game. Hell, Sonny Jurgensen drank and smoked at half-time

The Bourne books are better than the Bond books, but I prefer the Bond movies... maybe for the same reason.

Better at what?

Hand to hand combat...Bourne is deadlier.

Introspection and self-doubt?...Bourne.

Gettin' laid?....Bond, hanns down.

Personal style?...Bond.

Supreme Evil Villain take-downs?...Bond.

Humour?...Bond, Bond, Bond.

All their grrlfriends wind up dead...tie.

I had never been a Ludlum fan he's one of the few authors that I started a couple of his books and didn't finish. I just find him ponderous.

That said, he's also the only author that I appreciated the books more after seeing the movies. Something about becoming invested in the Jason Bourne character makes me willing to wade through the volume of minutiae that he puts in his books.

I have bogged down on a Van Lustbader, Bourne novel. which probably means he captured Ludlum's style well.

The dead girlfriends bit is a nice touch. Unlike hookers, you don't have to pay them to leave afterwards.

Bourne mopes a bit. Bond seems not notice.

Bourne mistrusts his government, is troubled, conflicted and often confused, so I can see why the OP would prefer him.

Bond on the other hand is suave, heroic, handsome, a hedonist and a patriot, too.

Bourne is into cheap hotel rooms. That's a deal breaker with me.

I'd read a heap of Lustbader before he got the deal to write the Bourne books, and the first Lustbader Bourne I didnt notice the difference. I'd recommend reading Pale Saint by him, its a lot less dense.
