Trump asks Russia and China to conduct espionage against an American citizen

You did? We did? "The BOARD" is? I'm not?

If you are under the impression that the Rob and Luke sideshow is somehow weighing on the strength of your rhetoric, take a gander at Rob' shrine to me in his profile.

Just for funsies, disagree with him sometime and see how he feels about "those God-damn queers" as he calls them. He already has his one gay friend as well as his one black friend so he's full up now.

I'm eclectic in my views. I could agree with someone on one topic but not on another. Like here, where I pointed out that I could think that Trump is playing close to the treason wall (certainly the dumb dodo on foreign affairs issues) on the e-mails but still think that Clinton is in deep shit over them. I don't have to do an all or nothing with either of them. That doesn't mean I have any doubts which one will make the best president, given the choices (even including the Libertarian and the Green party candidates, both whom it would be nice to see in the debates). That's how it can be when you're not polarized doctrinaire.

Is there anybody here who was surprised to learn the DNC Emails were hacked? Is there anybody here who would be surprised to learn Hillary's Emails were also hacked? Anybody? Anybody that fucking stupid? :D

Is there an English translation for that? (Not that I care--don't strain yourself).

Sure, brah.

Not sure exactly where to start.

You are aware that there are small humans known as children correct?

Over the course of the last couple of decades I've participated in raising five such, small humans or children as they are colloquially known.

Each in turn became fascinated with a card game called Pokemon. Over time this moved to other varying platforms but the general idea remain more or less the same it's like playing war with a deck of cards except for you have these made up animals.

I gotta be honest dog I'm not too hip to current events and happenings and what not. I would say you would have to live in a cave to not know that Pokemon Go is the latest craze in games for your phone. Except for the fact that I actually do more or less live in a cave and I've heard of it.

Anyway, one of the really early Pokemon that I recall was named Jigglypuff, bringing this circle the complete translation and all necessary background material for your briefing. You're welcome.

So Trump mentions something that your average idiot would take as outrageous.
Idiots that would never vote for him anyway. But why? Is he stupid?

Or did he just control the news during the middle of the convention with no down side?

The "news" must be average idiots as they seem to be deeming him as outrageous. No down side? See my first sentence.

TBH, Trump *is* stupid. He can't even control his mouth, how the hell can he control the media? Or anything else for that matter.

Nope. The surprise was that the DNC staffers were dumb enough to be putting anything compromising in their e-mails. It's not like they didn't notice how dangerous that could be.

That said, I'm neither surprised nor disgusted that the DNC staff tried to undermine Sanders. The same happened in the RNC toward Trump, for the same reason--just more openly. Both Trump and Sanders were outsiders even to the parties they tried (Trump successfully, Sanders pretty nearly successfully) to steal. Trump isn't really a Republican. Sanders was only a Democrat for about ten minutes before wanting the party to get him elected as president--and still, to this day, is formally listed as an Independent. Neither did a damn thing for the respective parties or any of the other party candidates before wanting the party to marry them and both denigrated the party apparatus while wanting it to make them president. It shouldn't be a surprise to anybody that the party apparatus didn't want to have to do the heavy lifting for either one of them.

And on another thread, you criticized me for parsing Trump's one-paragraph statement with three paragraphs. :D :D :D

I'm finding you so entertaining. :D

I can see that we've never been formally introduced. I am que, and other fascinating people. I am splendidly verbose.

Part that you are missing is that many people believe that I am Smooth, I don't dissuade them. Smooth, a lifelong resident of Newark, NJ is a scratch chess player, father, semi-retired criminal, and social commentator. He is exactly who he appears to be.

I don't know if Trump does these things by design, but he set a nice little trap for Democrats, Hillary supporters, and the news media to fall into. He's either slyly brilliant in doing these things, or the luckiest son of a bitch I've ever seen. :D

how is this a trap? I must have missed something.

I adore Smooth. :)

If Hillary's 33,000 deleted Emails were all about yoga lessons and such, and none were about her official duties as Secretary of State, and none contained classified information, then she, and we, have nothing to worry about if they were hacked. The possible hacking posed no risk whatsoever to national security, in that case. If, on the other hand, she's a liar and some of those Emails were about her official duties, she's in big, big trouble if the hackers release those Emails. And a whole lot of people who bought her story are going to look really, really stupid, if that happens.

That's truly the fascinating thing, that two outsiders with no business being at the dance getting as far as they did. It9 strongly suggests that the American public is sick of more of the same and want something different. Anything as long as it's different.

although the actual compromising information about how they were trying to keep Sanders out Although the actual compromising information about how they were trying to keep Sanders out is embarrassing to the Democratic Party it is not that it wasn't anything but an open secret. Having that in writing doesn't change of thing. If that's not what they're actually the most embarrassed about.

The most embarrassing is the actual words, thoughts, phrases that put the lie to their degree of tolerance of other people. I don't think that they are any more or less bigoted than any other group of elitist sitting around and just using edgy, ofgensive language here and there. It was not pervasive however that's the trope about what Republicans are supposed to sound like and it was them.

that is why they started emphasizing the fact that it was a Russian group that got these emails out to get people misdirected and thinking about Russians influencing the election. Donald been trumped them by doubling down on that which was freaking brilliant

She could also have 33,000 emails containing *classified information* that would serve our country well if they were hacked. :D

C'mon....think about it.

;)

I'll bite too. What trap? He stepped on his dick. Sure, he was upstaging the Democratic convention in the news, but if you don't think he pricked up the ears of some folks who can do him great harm both now and if he becomes president, you don't know much about who really runs the country--the bureaucracy. They don't take this Russia connection lightly.

Hah! only on occasion. dig deeper. :)

Oh I dig deep with this heavy D, bbygrl. You gots no idea how deep.

Fuck is Smooth, frfr? He best not be incurring another debt to society. Imma hafta query jezzybaby about his happs.

Wow, Trump's not even president and already he's got more clout with the Russians than the guy with the reset button.
Just a week ago I saw a tv ad touting Clinton as the candidate who has met with Putin, though I don't believe the commercial offered any credit to Clinton for accomplishing anything. No mention of Russia's acquisition of Ukraine.
But just think, if the Russians already do have emails from her unsecure server (hey, if they can hack the DNC ...) we could be looking at having a sitting president being blackmailed by the Russians.

Already answered your question.

Oh, did she say her e-mailing was about crochet? I missed that part. I can tell you who's going to be in the deepest doodoo if the Sec State e-mails start to become public--the guy who opened his mouth and asked the Russians to provide them if they had them. He, in fact, is going to take heat off Clinton, because the e-mails will show she was doing her job, not crocheting--and they'll show that they really, really aren't e-mails we want to know the Russians have. (I go back to her server probably being more secure than the State Department servers she should have been using--and that were known to have been hacked during her tenure at State). What we'll have suddenly is a big-mouthed man requesting foreign espionage to help his presidential campaign, which will deflect ire from Clinton.

Do you really not understand the danger of dicking around with the Russians from a presidential campaign soap box? Are you really that naive? These aren't liberals you are talking about who will start taking out the axes. There are parts of the government that a president or presidential contender just does want to piss off.

A little history of the cold war. It was largely a game when intell agencies were swiping stuff from each other during the cold war and they just held it as bargaining chits. The shit only hit the fan when evidence of this came out in public. Then they felt they had to do something punishing about it.
