OK thank-you for this. I’ve never been able to discern where you are on the spectrum.

If I could … my perspective is different. I don’t wave the banner in every post; but I make no secret of my agreement with the international Trotskyist tendency.

This perspective sees the ruling class as the product of a mutually necessary but decidedly hostile alliance between two factions. One is expressed in the GOP, and the other by the Democratic Party.

As I see it, NEITHER could rule without the support of the other. But BOTH feud bitterly on every issue with the intent to seize the lion’s share of the wealth produced by the working class. In effect, Capitalism is the struggle of two sections of the ruling class for dominance over societal resources and wealth.

I make this point NOT because I expect your agreement, but because I would rather be seen as an eccentric than a troll.

China Launches Surprise Large-Scale Military Drills Around Taiwan​

In a surprise move, the Chinese military launched a massive military training exercise around Taiwan this week.
Drills took place in both the airspace and waters surrounding the island nation, with the Chinese navy, air, ground, and rocket forces involved in the exercise. Shi Yi, a spokesperson for the People’s Liberation Army’s Eastern Theater Command, said the drills were intended to deliver a “severe warning and forceful containment against Taiwan independence,” per AP.

Taiwan remains a highly contentious issue between Beijing and Washington. While China considers the island part of its territory, the United States recognizes Taiwan as an independent nation, much to Beijing’s dissatisfaction. In the past, China has said it is prepared to secure Taiwan by force, raising concerns that the United States could be entangled in a war to defend its ally’s sovereignty.

Taiwan’s significance has increased in recent years as it persists as the world’s hub for advanced semiconductor production. Late last year, Elbridge Colby, who then-President-elect Donald Trump named his next undersecretary of defense policy, said it was critical that leading chip producer Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) not fall into the hands of the People’s Republic of China.

“China’s blatant military provocations not only threaten peace in the #Taiwan Strait but also undermine security in the entire region, as evidenced by drills near Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, the Philippines & the [South China Sea]. We strongly condemn China’s escalatory behavior,” the Taiwan Presidential Office Spokesperson’s account posted on X on March 31.

Ok. Not an American (or a Russian). Just someone watching the world news. I have thoughts and want to know if other people think my logic is sound or flawed.

My idea -
Trump thinks war with China is inevitable. (I'm not saying it is, I'm saying HE thinks that.)

Trump expects Europe to side with America by default. He's pretty sure he can insult the counties and their politicians all he likes. They still will choose America over China.

But Russia?

Russia (in his mind) are the deciding factor. If Russia is with the US, it's an easy win.
But if Russia goes to China's team, it becomes WW3, and a race to fire nukes.

Therefore, Trump will give everything Putin asks, because he's after something more than Ukraine, he's after an ally in the next big war.

(Again, not defending Trump's actions. Just trying to understand his actions)

No, trump is going to secure natural resources from Ukraine because they owe the US big time. Then he will fiercely protect them from Russia or anyone else. Then the US will sell our refined interests to the EU for a huge profit that we will use back home to build our iron dome…..EU will be forced to buy or deal with Russia.
