Yup, although the blockage was just outside in the pipes leading to the septic tank. But yes, it said: "Professional >98% concentration sulphuric acid" on the dangerous looking black container and it smoked and and spluttered like "hell" down the pipes.

And it worked.

They're flushing a lot of water through at the moment and will be adding bacterial culture for the tank later.
According to the company that empties the tank, the amount we used to break down the blockage (mostly baby wipes and sanitary towels, judging from what I fished up from that horrible mess) will not cause a problem. I hope they're right, although you're making me a little worried now, to be honest.

Bleach is prolly worse. And if they use bleach after the acid, there might be chlorine gas forming. Make sure all the traps in the house are full of water.
