As a mere male, I'm interested to learn what physical sensations a woman experiences when she first starts to become aroused. Is it always the same or can it vary? Clinical terms like 'vascocongestion' tell me about the bodily mechanics involved but not the sensations a woman feels happening in her body. Can any ladies help me out?

Interesting question. I am a woman so I should know and yet I have no idea! I am pretty much sure it is happening in my head, not in my body. On the other hand, I know that there are physical changes (erect nipples, wetness), but I don't feel them.

I'm writing a story from a woman's point view and trying to get the details accurate.

Id definitely like too learn more
The female mind intrigues me
Is love to know what triggers you.
I'm sure it could be different for just
about Every one. And how often do they occur I know most of us men can get worked up at the drop of a hat .
Let us know ladies

The best I can describe it is “flushed and restless”

And yes, I also don’t feel the wetness, it’s more like a need radiating from the bowl of my pelvis.
Yes! Eventually there definitely is a need to be filled, but the OP asked about "physical sensations a woman experiences when she first starts to become aroused" and that need is pretty far removed from the start.

Thank you ladies, I really appreciate your input.

As I suspected, there seems to be no single definitive or agreed response. I'm sure the same kind of variations would come with men too. Maybe different circumstances or an interplay of personal factors could create a range of sensations and emotions.

It's a difficult thing to describe... like mentioned above, it's much more mental at first. I do like the comment on being "flushed and restless," because that's as good a description as any I can think of regarding physical sensations that may go with that initial mental arousal.

Beyond a restlessness, the first physical sensations I recognize tend to depend on what I'm wearing or not wearing. If I have on a bra (especially unlined lace) or a top of a more course fabric and no bra, I may notice the texture against hardened nipples. Of course, that could occur for other reasons too, but if it goes along with mental arousal and the restlessness, I know what it means. 😉

Panties can make a different for me too. If I'm wearing panties, or even tight pants with no panties, I sometimes can feel warmth between my legs. I don't feel the wetness itself at that point, really, but I know that warmth goes with wetness. But when if I'm not wearing anything or something loose, then I probably won't feel the warmth.

Of course, as things ramp up, the need builds, things throb and tingle and even feel tickled with no touching whatsoever. But that's well beyond the initial stages... 😉😁

Thought about this a bit more ... I am not sure if that's a physical manifestation or mental, but for me arousal brings on the need of a touch. Doesn't really matter where or who is doing the touching, me or him, but there is definitely a need for skin-to-skin contact. It doesn't have to be a strictly sexual touch, fingering or whatever, depending on the situation it might be something as simple as holding hands, or his hand on my shoulder, assuming it is summer and I am wearing something sleeveless. Or it can be my hand in his hair if I am the one in the lead at the moment.

^^^ This for me too. But I tend to think it's more mental in the initial stages. It becomes more a physical need as I get more aroused.

If it's a difficult thing to describe as a woman, you can see my problem, as a man, trying to describe it. Thank you for your very useful input. :rose:

That idea opens up a whole new field of possibilities.:heart:

Hmm, I'm starting to think I may have to write something based on these replies! 👏

An interesting topic and some good points have already been made. I would say it is mostly mental to start. I tend to feel restless. Like I need something but not quite sure what. I probably do know what at this stage of life but still it is not as obvious as the male erection. The need to touch and be touched has been mentioned and I would agree with that. Personally I do not think I show any visible signs of being aroused unless we are well into the process. Nipples seem to become more sensitive and there are vaginal changes but those do not manifest until late and would not be noticeable to casual observation.

you have painted a pretty good picture with your description! for that matter everyone has thus far! I like the "flushed and restless" or as Michael Keaton said in the movie Beetlejuice...."I am feeling a bit Anxious, if you know what I mean lol

I was trying to think of how to answer this yesterday and gave up. Mind interest comes first. I am probably starting to get wet by then, but not noticing it. I like more and more being kissed and touched. As I get more aroused my nipples get hard and my clit might start to tingle. Every occasion is different.

The first things I feel are warmth in my pussy and tingling in my clit... feel it start to swell. Can't really feel the wetness at first or for a while until it either starts running down towards my ass or I get up to walk and the pussy lips slide nicely with each step. 😛😉
Oh my! Heavens to mergatroyd! WOWSER! etc. Very nicely done. And thanks for the mental images.

Mmm, the common theme from the ladies is "mental first". I love getting into a woman's headspace.
