Thanks very much, Bob. I really appreciate your kindness!

You might say it has been a rough year. My granddaughter was born the 19th of December and had to have surgery the next day. Ten days later, my dear Sister passed away. August 3rd, my baby granddaughter had to have open heart surgery to repair the hole in her heart and now reality is hitting me. I have to find work now as my job was cut out on July 15th.

It is really time for something wonderful to happen for me. I am trusting that. I certainly have loads of wonderful friends here that make me smile every single day. I hope I can consider you a new one.

Prayers for Jacqline

It can be so tempting to ask why and when will it end. It seems like there is no end to suffering. I am not sure what each person's share is, but I think that we can agree that you have had your share for this last year. My wife and I have heard that so many times. Her health has been so bad that she has not been able to work for over two years and a week would not be complete without at least one doctor's visit. She has been to the E.R. three times in the last 2 months and has been admitted to the hospital twice. She has recently found that she has a second rare vascular tumor growing in her groin area. The first one took ten procedures over 18 months, four visits to UCLA and seven visits to a specialist in Denver to treat it. This is just one of six major health conditions that she has. However, we are thankful that she has good people taking care of her and so many people to give us encouragement and support. If it wasn't for our church family, we would probably have gone under a long time ago. I would hate to think what would happen if I would lose my job like you did, Jacqline. My problem is the other way. We are so short handed that I and my collegues are being overworked. It is not a good idea to compare problems, because everybody's are especially bad for them. When you told about yours, I felt that I was fortunate. I also have so many other friends who are suffering from cancer and other problems and then don't even have family or other friends to help them through it.

Their are so many fantastic people on this thread to hug you and pray for you and give you the support that you need. Please count me in as one of them. I posted a small poster about hugs earlier on this thread. See if you can find it and enjoy it. I am sending you a big hug and a pray for family health and a new job. Take care of yourself and know that God loves you a can give you the strength that you need.

Bob,

There is one thing I know. I have never been involved with a website where there were so many fantastic people. Starting a few weeks before my granddaughter's surgery, Magic Man started a special prayer thread for her. I totally believe that all those wonderful people had a major part in the surgery going so smoothly and for her getting stronger every day. They are still keeping it alive until I hear that she is totally fine. I am so blessed to have all you online friends.

I am sad that my granddaughter (and of course my daughter and son in law) live so far away.........in Denver. I got to spend a week with them before the surgery and deepen my bond with my little angel.

Tears rolled down my eyes when I read about all the things you and your wife have endured. Thank God you have each other and the wonderful support system. I have added your wife to my daily prayer list.

Both my daughter and son in law are doctors in Denver. They chose to live and work there because of the great programs there. I am sure the doctor that has been working on your wife is wonderful. The one that operated on my granddaughter is a world famous surgeon from France and they are lucky to have him there.

God bless you both. My faith is strong and I know that things will be wonderful for me, it will just happen in God's time and I will be busy following the path.

Nightbob, I don't know why God picks some people to experience extraordinary pain in their lives. There must be a purpose, but there is little solace in that line of thinking for those that live the pain through those that they love. I think Jacqline would agree. It isn't fair that anyone has to suffer so much, no matter what their age. Maybe we are chosen, as healthy people, to experience the pain of others so that we can help others deal with it from our own experience later on. I've been there.

I am going crazy. I have left a couple of messages and haven't heard back from my daughter. I am sure they are busy but I asked that they just call me long enough to let me know how our sweet angel is. I am sure if it was bad I would hear, but I would still like to know.

Please give special hugs to Magic Man. He has had to be so strong for his whole family while trying to grieve himself. The service is today (the 16th). It has been so hard on him. He is always here for all of us.

I do not believe that what my wife and I are going through is God's will. I believe that God is loving and wants only the best for us. He will give us the strength to get through whatever we face, if we are ready and willing to be open to what he has for us. Illness, pain and death are all parts of life. I know that it seems to us and our friends that we have had more than our "share" of "bad" luck. However, God gave us those friends to be there to help us and support us. I know that God has guided me in so many aspects of my life. There have been many times when I did not really want to do what I thought God wanted me to do. It seems like He keeps nudging me until I give in. I know that God wants me to help other people. My parents and my church taught me that, and then life kept telling me. I started my college carreer as a chemistry major. Friends tried to talk me into switching to pharmacy, but I told them, No. I wanted to discover things in chemistry. It did not take long for circumstances and Uncle Sam to change my direction to pharmacy. I have been helping sick people for over 30 years now. God has not let me slow down and take the easy way of practicing and doing things. Five years ago, he once again nudged me into a specialization in diabetes management. Most of my practice has not come from personal experience, but some of our trials have made me more compassionate. My wife's illnesses and long term health issues have taken their toll on me. I have gone into periods of severe depression. Through medication and therapy, I have been able to maintain functionality. I still have my ups and downs. I now know what other people are going through. I can not only provide medication to help them but also give them encouragement. So many poeple feel that they are bad or inadequate because they suffer from depression. They are ashamed of it and try to hide it and not get help from their freinds and prefessionals. I can let them know that depression is a valid health problem and they are not "crazy". So you see, I agree with you that God can work through us to help other people.

I came to Lit to learn more about women and what they like. I also came here for the sexual nature of the site. I have been totally overwhelmed by the love, care, concern and support that I have found here. I had never expected anything like that. I have talked to so many people who have a strong faith in God. I have learned more here than I ever thought I would. Even more importantly, I have met so many fantastic people. I hesitate to list all of their names when I offer hugs, because my brain is so stressed, I cannot remember everybody each time. Arden, I really appreciate your concern and hugs along with that from Toni and Elizabeth. REcently I have gotten to know Jacqline and she has made a very big impact on me and help me see some things differently.

I am giving an unlimited number of hugs to everyone because you all have filled my heart with so much love, it is overflowing. Since it is late, I want everyone to go to sleep tonight feeling the warmth of a loving embrace.
