I have heard people lament the climate of the General Board. Few people mention specifics, but clearly something has been lost.

I, for one, miss the truly open spirit of the place. The requirement to register was a huge blow to the hands-off approach the management seemed to once take.

I sometimes feel that I am judged harshly for my opinions and/or questions that I ask advice on when posting on Lit.

There are nice ways of saying things and downright rude ways of saying things..... I guess it comes down to the old saying of "Treat others how you would like to be treated"

However it doesn't make any difference how someone sees my view of threads or how rude someone is to me..... I still can't bring myself to be rude or obnoxious about another person's opinion and I don't think it matters if they have differing opinions to mine...... I would just like to point out to those Lit users that have been here for a long long time that just because someone is new and you don't know them......doesn't necessarily mean that they don't know anything and if someone doesn't agree with what you say.......Thats cool - people are allowed to think differently - it doesn't mean you are wrong....it just means they think differently to you......if you listen -- you might even learn something.
