If people were genuinely upset about prices of gas and diesel, they wouldn't be buying fuel hog trucks, boats, ATVs and all sorts of other users.

They wouldn't be out cruising pointlessly up and down the road either. I can't count the number of times the same vehicles run this rural road that doesn't go anywhere. They pass my house, go to the T intersection, turn around and go back out. I have a neighbor that literally just drives around in a 99 Checvy pickup because he doesn't have anything else to do. I have another neighbor that passes here 8-10 times a day some days, running various errands. Some of the trips can be a hundred miles. Others are 50-60 and they do it more than once a day.

I drive less in a year than some people around drive in a couple of weeks.

I know of other who literally just cruise around like we did in the 60s when gas was 30 cents a gallon.

But I just checked a price site I use and stations vary around $2.50 - $2.75 which is less than I paid last time I filled up a month ago.

Shut up jackass.

Cheap drones and missiles are shutting down more global shipping routes. Insurance costs are rising on cargo ships and tankers. Drone war is limited by the supply chains of electronics, so it can't completely shut down global shipping, but oil prices may get much more unstable for a while.

anyone complaining about gas prices needs to find a website that does currency conversions for years in the past. Go back to what a gallon cost when you first started driving. Most times gas is hardly more with purchasing power adjusted

Well, yeah, when we were cruising around for the hell of it and paying 30 cents a gallon, we were making $2.50 an hour or less at physical labor jobs.

Not to mention, the MAGAts driving around the country in trucks and RVs following the corrupt orange traitor like groupies, and participating in "convoys" that travel thousands of miles to various locations to "defend America".

And what about the money the MAGAts waste on excess GUNZ!!! and wasting ammo for "fun".

How about endless donations to their orange god and the purchase of NFTs, and other worthless MAGAt merch.

🤔

Poor MAGAts

And the repeating $5 donations to pay for Trump's criminal attorneys, not to mention hush money to complainants on the run up to elections. Oh, I nearly forgot, compensation to people he defamed.

In my state the average is about $2.35 in Democrat CA it's $4.55

California and a few other states are routinely higher than the US average. Big whoop. You might as well mention that more Californians have been to the beach in the last year than people from Kansas.

Hey! We have lakes! Mostly man-made, but still, they have beaches!

Average price of gas in my state in 2008: $4.12. G W Bush had been in the White House for 7+ years. Adjusted for inflation, that's the same as $5.99 today. The actual average price today is $3.20. There are some things that are not completely within the control of the Oval Office. And, we can make numbers tell almost any story we want.

It had me thinking about all this virus isolation and post-hospital stuff in my life. I went out to the car and checked my odometer.

I've driven 1,566 miles in the last thirteen months. 98% of that is probably back and forth to doctors. The rest of the mileage is to the grocery store.

I'm working on my taxes. I've spent $189.64 on fuel for 2023.

So, I'm not too concerned about gas prices. I am about inflation, though. I am on a fixed income without any adjustment for inflation; no social security. The effect is that my money doesn't buy as much as it did the previous year. Though some are seeing the benefits of increased wages, I do not. I admit that I am the exception.

Hopefully, things get better.

Anyone upset with U.S. gas prices at any time in history should live long enough anywhere else (other than Saudi Arabia) outside of the United States long enough to have a car that needs to be gassed up.

Of course gas prices were lower in the Trump years. Those were Covid years when Trump's response to Covid was abysmal. People weren't driving anywhere. They were hiding at home. The oil industry was having trouble giving gas away. Why are Trumpettes so stupid about issues like this?

I've never been overly concerned with gas prices, the food prices are what people should be upset about. There is no reason for it other than greed and because our "leadership" is too busy finger pointing and acting like fifth graders to help the people dumb enough to vote for them.

What exactly are they supposed to do? I mean lets for the sake of argument say the Right decided to sit out the argument. How long do you think it would take for grocery stores and their suppliers to scream about how the Dems are trying to turn us into commie Russia and/or artificially reduce competition? Its not like the average person has the time or frankly the resources to confirm or deny if the companies are artificially keeping supply low and/or colluding with each other.

I think any idiot should be able to tell there is collusion. I mean when you kick the tires a bit almost everything at the grocery store is owned by less than ten actual companies. I don't even mean obvious stuff like Post, Kellogs and whoever makes Grapenuts. I mean stuff like Kellogs owns Cheezits, Ruffles and Sun chips.
