Are the Democrats a Communist Party?

First: what is communism?

I am—to be clear—no particular fan of Republican rhetoric and propaganda, nor am I attracted to party line politics of any sort, but this convention seemed on the edge of an out-of-body “mass formation psychosis” experience à la Mattias Desmet, from both audience and speakers, that eerily approached the atmosphere of Leni Riefenstahl ’s documentary of the 1934 Nuremberg Rally (not exactly communist but close enough in its celebration of group think).

The times, they are indeed a’changin’ at an almost unfathomable clip—but am I exaggerating?

Maybe. But even the scheduling of speakers at the DNC is beginning to resemble the shuffling of faces on a politburo rostrum with Presidents Biden and Obama being rendered nonpersons by not speaking until nearly 11:00 PM. Biden is almost literally their Brezhnev, to be propped up and then escorted from the scene..

But if we are to ask whether today’s Democrats are a communist party we must first define the term communist that has become rather different in our era, though no less ominous and, in my view, potentially more successful globally.

congrats on finally learning that it's not the "democratic party." 🙄🤣

The author does a good job of saying he's going to define the "new communism" , but then just goes on to complete obfuscation and conflation instead.

TL Dr - the "new communism" is just the Democratic party and China...a fun circular logic approach for the Reichy in all of us

They are a party party. Commoners who donate small amounts of party supplies are allowed to leave them at the door. The heavy donors go to the champagne room.

The Democrats aren't Communists. They're neoliberals who range from progressive to moderate in their stances. I have plenty of quarrels with the Democratic Party, just as I do with the GOP, but if you're going to denounce them, do it on a factual basis.

No.

Yes, for all practical purposes. They support and enact Marxist policies. They support unconstitutional totalitarian government controls on the population. They use weaponized government agencies to harass, prosecute, and imprison their political enemies. They demand conformity to their ideology and their forms of communication. Ideologically political propagandists indoctrinate our children from their first day in school. They hate individual liberty except their own. Children are taught to judge others on the basis of their race. They threaten or do worse to the noncompliant. All their foregoing fits within the communist mold.

That's not communism.

What do you know about Marxism? Have you even read The Communist Manifesto?

From my perch, slightly to the left of center, The Republican Party, under Trump, look more fascist than the Democrat Party, under Harris, looks Communist.

I answered this question long ago when you asked it. If you had a memory longer than this morning you'd remember it.
There isn't a single thing Trump has done that resembles Fascism.

What did they do deviate from the Democrat script on Ukraine and tell the truth about something?
The New York Times carries water for Donald Trump. They edit quotes to make his speeches sound more coherent than they are. They criticize President Biden and Vice President Harris for things that they ignore when Trump does them. The NYT is not as partisan as Fox News, but they're still in the tank for Donald Trump.

Give me three examples.

Give me three examples.
Here's a quick one because I just read it. When the Trump team commented on the recent incident at Arlington, their press release made reference to "hollowed" ground. Other outlets reported the error as "hollowed [sic} ground". The NYT did Trump the favor of correcting his words for him. They changed "hollowed" to "hallowed". They do this all the time with his speeches, sorting through the mangled words to cobble together something that sounds coherent.

So were they correcting "Trump's" actual words or those of somebody else inbhis team? Would you like to correct what I have highlighted above? Who were the other outlets that reported "hollowed ground?"

Oh and I'm still waiting for those three examples that show a pattern of pro-Trump reporting.

I don't answer to you.
