Once capitalism has finally been overthrown, the toiling masses will then be able to proceed to the building of socialism worldwide. Instead of multinational corporations based in the advanced countries exploiting the less developed nations and sucking wealth out of them, workers in the advanced nations will go to the aid of those in the less advanced, bringing their standard of living up to parity with ours. Massive public works projects will guarantee full employment at a living wage, rebuild the crumbling infrastructure, and provide a level of public services-- roads, schools, hospitals, parks, libraries, museums, etc.-- unparalleled in all of human history. Borders and armies will be abolished, and the entire world united peacefully in a federation of workers' states. Power will flow from the bottom up, with the local workers council, where all will have an equal voice, as the base. There will be total equality of all races, both genders, all religions, etc., and all forms of discrimination and bias will be swept away. Bureaucracy and corruption will be guarded against by two simple measures. First, an easy, effective right of recall of all public officials, should a majority become disatisfied with them. Second, all public officials, even the highest, will serve at ordinary workers' wages. Once socialism has been established, police and prisons will virtually disappear, as the main cause of crime, poverty, will no longer exist.

LOL. We capitalists have been trying to build the infrastructure in those countries for years and years. They keep stealing all the money, building materials, spare parts, etc. We want to see power come from the people "up" too, that's why we like having votes. LOL. You silly man (or should I say woman if you're really Dianne Fienstien?) why don't you go over there as a peace corps volunteer and help make it happen rather than sitting here griping that someone else isn't doing it?

Maybe you have what it takes to keep all our good efforts from being ruined.

To a certain extent, you are correct. Capitalism and democracy are fundamentally incompatible. Democracy is the rule of the majority, with fundamental human rights for all. Capitalism, on the other hand, concentrates enormous wealth, and thus power, in the hands of a tiny few. Ultimately, the only possible alternative to socialist revolution is a fascist police state. Under the pressure of the current world-historical crisis, which will rival in scope and magnitude that of the 1930's, capitalism is rapidly degenerating into fascism.

It detailed the massive intelligence failures, but, at least to my reading, didn't even hint that any of them were intentional.

And what is the smoking gun, the irrefutable proof offered by this website that the President of the United States was indirectly or perhaps even directly responsible for the murder of three thousand of its citizens? That he didn't immediately leave his scheduled time at the elementary school to convene a meeting of his defense and intelligence staff. That's it. From there he leaps to the conclusion — well, Jesus, isn't it obvious? — that George W. Bush knew of and allowed the attacks to happen and proceed.

Let's just skip over the more obvious conclusion — that the massive intelligence failures didn't reveal that there were any attacks besides the two planes hitting the World Trade Center, and that it seemed over with after that.

And who the hell is this guy? Is he a chairman of some group? Is he a member of some think tank? No; he's a shmuck with a webpage. Not that there's anything wrong with shmucks with webpages; I myself am a shmuck with a webpage. But between a shmuck with a webpage and the President of the United States, I don't care if it's George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, or Franklin fuckin' Roosevelt, the President gets the benefit of the doubt. Totally untrue. Stalinism, which is a bureaucratic degeneration from genuine Communism, murdered huge numbers of people, including virtually the whole Bolshevik leadership. Trotsky rightly called Stalin the "gravedigger of the revolution." The crimes of Stalinism can in no way be attributed to true Communism. Trotsky fought tirelessly against Stalin, until he was himself murdered by a Stalinist goon.

Lenin remarked significantly that no one had ever promised that communism would actually be achieved. What Lenin did say was achievable was socialism, organized on the principle "From each according to his ability, to each according to his ability." Under socialism, there would still be inequality, just far less than there is under capitalism. There would also be room for incentive, the alleged lack of which is often raised as a criticism of communism by ignorant people who actually know nothing about it.
