Ashton shook his head. "I'm fairly certain he could have spied on us in any room inside the castle."

Sebeen spun around with a shocked look on her face.

"Your kidding, why would he want to see us like that, all nude and joined"

She thought of all the things they had done.

"Did he watch it all, Ashton"

Ashton shrugged. "That I don't know. I'd assume he wanted to do two things...first, to make sure that nature followed its course. Second, to make sure that you didn't get injured."

That was all she could take.

"How can you be so calm about this. It as if you had an agreement with my Father do do what you did.

She looked at him.

"Did you"

Ashton shook his head. "It wasn't my idea. But if you get into a huff, you won't see things clearly."

He was right of course. She calmed herself down.

"Listen you go to breakfast, just tell one of my ladies to bring me a light breakfast. They will know what to bring me"

As she looked into his eyes she could tell he did not like the idea of her staying to her room.

Ashton was about to protest, but the look in her eyes told him more than words could. He nodded, then bowed, and headed down to the kitchen.

Sebeen walked over to the bed and sat down on it. For a moment she had thought Ashton was going to force her to go to breakfast. Of course he could have done that, he was bigger and much stronger then her. She was glad he let her be. She started to think about her Father and then pushed it from her mind.

Sooner then she thought possible one of her ladies came into the room with a pot of tea and toast.

"Are you feeling ill, mi lady"

Sebeen smiled at her.

"No just not very hungry, you can leave it on the dresser and go do your things"

She watched her lady leave and went over to the tray and poured a cup of tea. She looked at the toast and picked a piece up. Chewing on it she took her cup and walked to the balony. She did not know how she would ever face her Father again.

Some Time Later

Sebeen had sat for a long time thinking of what had happened. She was tired of the castle, the walls seemed to come in on her. She stood took her flute and walked out of her room. As she past the dining room she heard her Father and Ashton talking. She walked quietly by it and out into the garden. She walked beyond it to the wall that lead to the maze. She followed the path through the hedge to the fountain. She walked over to it sat down and began to play her flute.

Ashton had been arguing with her father about the whole thing. Finally getting fed up, he walked out the door and out into the garden. He just stood there, watching her play.

Sebeen finished her tune and turned ready to leave the area when she saw Ashton. She smiled at him but did not get up.

"I'm sorry if I was rude to you before Ashton"

Ashton shook his head. "It's okay, I understand. Your father is....difficult to deal with."

Many questions popped int Sebeen's mind but she did not ask him. He was not to blame for what had happened. Sooner or later she would have to face her Father but right now she wanted to forget the whole thing. She just nodded her head in agreement with Ashton.

Ashton smiled, and walked over, sitting down beside her. "He's trying to plan a wedding. I don't think either of us are ready for that yet."

Sebeen's eyes opened wide as she stared at Ashton.

"What is he doing that for, he knows I am not ready to leave my land yet"

She calmed herself down.

"I'm so very sorry I asked you to show me sex, that is what got us into all this"

Ashton shrugged. "The religion of Taoism states that we are all tools in the hands of fate."

She tilted her head confused by his statement.

"What are you trying to tell me Ashton"

She wanted so to hold him and be held by him but thought considering what had happened between them, it would lead to much more.

Ashton smiled, then thought how to explain. "Taoists seek a state of balance with the universe. They are usually pacifists, meaning they don't like to fight. Of course, they know that this is sometimes necessary, and train themselves for such an eventuality. They believe themselves to be bound by fate, as are all things."

 

[rvplymates]

"Ah, they seem to be like me, I don't like to fight but I am afraid my Father is going to make me and so I am getting ready for it. But unlike them, I know that I will have to bend to his will as he is the King or run away but where would I go, I have never left the confides of my Father's Kingdom. Anyway, I am not a coward either. To be bound by fate is a hard thing as a part of you will rebel, dont you think so Ashton"

She reached up and caressed his face, something she did not want to do but somehow could not help herself.

Ashton thought that over. When she touched his face, he leaned into her hand. "Fate is a cruel mistress. That's another good bit of advice."

She continued to caress his face as his eyes had captured hers. He seemed to invade her space with his maleness.

"So what does it mean Ashton, we should allow ourselves to be forced to marry and wonder the rest of our lifes if we will ever come to love each other. It is like an arranged marriage then. Neither wanting it nor loving, it would not be a happy union"

Ashton shook his head. "In my experience, courtship comes before marriage."

 

[rvplymates]

She thought for a moment letting her hand return to her lap.

"And I think that is where we made our mistake because doesn't courtship also come before sex. So I caused the whole problem, didn't I. I demanded you show me sex and you did so. But to tell you the truth I did not know what it was"

She looked at him shyly.

"I did so like it Ashton"

Ashton smiled, then put his arm around her shoulders. "Well, among humans, at least, where I'm from, they don't so much use the courtship-before-sex thing.... There are actually people who get together for sex dates."

 

[rvplymates]

His hands felt wonderful on her as she listened to him. She raised an eyebrow.

"Oh is that why you are so wonderful at it. You must have vast experience then. But anyway, are you saying that it doesnt matter that we had sex before a courtship or we would not have a courtship because we already have had sex"

Sebeen was confused and it showed on her face.
