The Earth Day 2011 Contest Support Thread

And, we're back to pristine for a few minutes again.

Contest start is getting closer. Better get your entry rolling if you're procrastinating :D

sorry again - retardo boy also posted on the MOST COMMENTS thread...

...share and share alike...

I believe that the "Most Comments Received List" and the 100+ Comment Club is a great addition to the world of LITEROTICA numbers. That’s why I post on the 100+ COMMENT thread so often. One day I hope to write a story that qualifies (even if I haven’t come close so far).

This is a list that the fair Gabrielle L. so selflessly works on for all our benefit. She’s a lovely young lady.

Just more of james r scouries helping to make LITEROTICA a better place.

Yep. Such a good thing to be in an unmoderated forum.

I suppose someone could use the stooges as a pollution plot bunny. Anybody got Captain Planet's number?

Troll? Thread crapper? Neanderthal? Lunatic? Stupid?

And this is coming from whom exactly?

Mr Cut-and-Paste? Miss 750 Word Survivalist? Liquid Cheater? Miss Odious? Some Worstroika alt who just joined? The man who would be oggking?

Is it possible these lower forms are referring to james r scouries?

Surely not the james r scouries who is…

Author of the 6th MOST READ story on the site –

And the 13th MOST READ story on the site -

And the 4th MOST READ story in the last 12 months.

Author of the two MOST COMMENTED ON stories on the site –

THREADMASTER extraordinaire…

Author of thirty (30) 1000+ stories…

The 6th MOST FAVORITED AUTHOR on the site…

Sponsor of the A.I.R. AWARDS

Highest ROYALTY earning author on the site…

Author of the 3rd MOST FAVORITED story on the site…

Author of the only two stories on the site with over 15,000 VOTES…

The Author who’s done more to improve LITEROTICA over the past 5 years than any 10 AHers combined...

I’m james r scouries esq. of

And let me humbly suggest that instead of name calling and insulting proven best selling authors that you should first try to produce something readable.

And you might all ask yourselves why none of the LITEROTICA GIANTS (except yours truly and I’m paid to post here) ever enter stories in these SPECIAL CONTESTS or post on this thread.

First the elephant in the room and now the ringmaster and clown.''''

Sorry folks, but scouries seems to have the idea that if he posts enough trash on the threads I post to that I will quit telling the truth about his fake contest and his fake lists. It ain't going to happen so again my apologies for his stupidity.

Ain't scouries humble, folks?

For anyone who is new, scouries likes to claim that he's paid royalties sufficient for him to be a philanthropist jet-setter by Lit. It should really go without saying, but nobody is paid simply to post stories on this free site.

Almost in the same breath, he constantly decries the ownership of the site for cheating him out of winning contests, for giving him unfair placement on the New List, rejecting his stories, etc.

Yes, the same people who can't live without his work and pay him with giant bags of cash are also out to get him.

That should give you a pretty good idea about who you're dealing with when he comes by to muck-spread on the thread.

Ignore function instructions and benefits can be found on the previous page of this thread, provided by Ogg, if you need any help.

We now return you to the Earth Day 2011 Contest Support Thread, hiding in the cracks between the giant-font posts of our resident trolls and their innumerable alts.

Well this is just my second contest, Erin, so when you see my story up, The Four Seasons, feel free to go nuts. :)

Just submitted my entrant. Usually I'm scrambling to get something in before the deadline.

It's a bit middle-of-the-road. Not nasty enough to challenge for the last place award. Not sappy enough to challenge the top 3.

It's been a while since I've actually submitted anything, so it proves I'm still alive, if anything.

It should give the trolls something to beat up on the first day anyway.

Cranking up the Chrono Cross soundtrack and getting back to mine, now that I'm done playing with the Hubs, looking for bugs.

It's highly unlikely that I'll have one out the first day, or even the first week. The story in my third name might make it out the first week -- maybe even first day if I have enough quiet time this weekend -- but Heart will take a while. I put those through a double review process, and the story is just a lot longer.

I just submitted too

I just submitted "Spirit of the Glen" in the SiFi & Fantasy category. I love feedback and votes - yes, I am that desperate.

I have another being edited, and I am writing a third that has been meandering through my semiconscious for a week and demands to be written.

Good luck manyeyedhydra!

Submitted my story a few minutes ago. Just over 10,000 words. Short for me anymore. I'm not elegible to win but it's fun to be part of the contest.
Good luck to all
With respect

Whoops. Spoke too soon.

My story just got rejected for questionable content :D

The rejection bot mistook a very sick joke about using fish as an...um...sex toy as an actual depiction of bestiality. Hopefully a note and a clarification to the paragraph to indicate he isn't actually performing that act will get it through.

Mine's in. It'll be interesting to see what happens with it. I decided to do some fan fiction regarding a TV show that had terrible ratings but a passionate following. That will probably limit the readership and the votes. I can't wait to see whether the few fans of the TV show embrace my tribute or get outraged if my interpretation of the characters doesn't match theirs.

Knight who formerly said NI: And when you have found the shrubbery...

Gwen: I know. Cut down the mightiest tree in the forest with a herring.

Mines in but after Darks joke I'm not sure if that is the right term. :D

Maybe it should be swimming up stream.

Mine's accepter, has it posting on 03-28-11. Ready for opening day. Already have 40 reads. LOL. Happy to see a few people are ready for opening day. Probably be my only entry unless I get an Earth Day Brain Fart. Don't laugh, it happens.:D
Good luck all
DG

I'm up to 6600 words, and have the connection between my two protagonists established ( what had been giving me problems all this time )

Just a matter of sufficient quiet time to get it finished, now. Have a day off from work tomorrow, and that will help. I figure that I'll have the first draft finished by next weekend at the latest, so I should make the deadline.

I've had those surprise rejections before. One time I had to resubmit a story multiple times because the symbols I kept using for inter-personality dialogue were forbidden since they were reserved for site purposes.

But hey, whatever works in the end, right?

It looks like my story is in as well, there is a link to it, but it still says it is waiting for moderator approval. We shall see, at any rate, it was nice to not get a rejection. Good luck again everyone. :)

Almost up to 8k words, and nearly close enough to add it to my signature, knowing that it will actually get finished. Just hit a major lead-in to the ending, as well as some serious sexual tension.

Whew... Looks like I'm not going to miss the deadline and break many years of tradition after all :D

I didn't realize you could submit already. Well, that's okay. I'm going to read mine over and submit this evening or tomorrow. It's only the title that's holding me up. Working title is "Lost in the Woods" (which, surprisingly, has not already been used in the romance category) but it feels kinda cheesy. I hate coming up with titles.

You can more or less submit as soon as the official thread appears at the top of the forum. As long as you have the appropriate line in the "notes" section, it will get pre-approved to go up on the first day of the contest.

I've loved following this thread for the last few days. Talk about stories, writing, submissions - great. I just pray that the masturbatory and demented white shark does us the courtesy of swimming off to the GB.

Scouries, you destroy a lot of people's enjoyment by your bullying. You'll reply like a dog follows its bone, but you're an anti-social feral outcast who is trying to destroy a wonderful site. You are in the ranks of the book burners.

Shame on you.

I agree completely with elfin_odalisque, look at all this talk of deadlines, plot, writer's block, and creative muses...my God, it is like writers hang out here. ;)
