Nah, no way! That's not me.

First of all, the man is fucking a Range Rover. Tell me, unless I was driving on Dover Cliffs with Gabby buckled along side of me in the passenger seat, that is, after I blew her up, I'd never be caught dead driving a Range Rover. Even though it's the best SUV in the world, way better than a BMW. Still I'm not the sport ute type. Give me more class than that.

Now, if that was a Roush 427 Mustang. Now, we're talkin'. Oh, yeah, I'd be fucking the dual exhaust pipes on that car for sure and forever.

Only, it's gotta have Recaro seats.

Since we're talkin' about cars, I'd be persuaded to fuck an Aston Martin or two.

I think I may end up starting mine from scratch. I'll be keeping nearly everything except the actual scenes I wrote. They were just too oriented to the original cold-weather story, plus concentrated a lot more on the romance because it started out as a Valentine story.

The more I type, the less right it feels. The original opening that I backspaced because it didn't feel romantic enough is probably the way I'm going to end up going, because I think it will lead into the Earth Day theme better.

Now, I just need this child to chill out for a little while so I can hear myself think

No such luck. I actually have a huge file of half-written backspace scenes from the original version of this, but not that one. It was the first thing I typed -- barely a handful of paragraphs -- so it won't be hard to recreate.

Most of the stuff I backspace is fan-service. It's little character scenes that don't necessarily advance the storyline, but would be fun for anyone who has read the other stories in the Wood universe. They're usually quirky little moments with characters who were the stars of a previous story. Nostalgia. That's the nice thing about a generational universe. Anybody who's read the previous stories has a much richer experience from the connection to the characters who are now taking a peripheral role.

Still may be able to use some of the scenes I've written, but starting the story from scratch feels like the right way to go. Have to see what I can integrate once I have the story moving.

I don't know why I made you work at the University of Chicago, or crack bad economics jokes all the time, or liken relationships and sex to various economic theories.
